Chri2Kng: I know but does that mean I have to re download the whole game again or is there anyway I can move it off galaxy? I also save the game files to my external hard drive and I don't understand how GOG work? I have the whole files (50 plus gb) but yet there is no setup button?
What you have downloaded and installed now is the "Galaxy-version" of the game, which doesn't include the offline installers. You can apparently run that too without Galaxy by running the exe file under the bin folder or something, but if you want the offline installers which let you re-install the game at any time without using Galaxy or internet, also to other PCs, then I think you need to redownload the installers.
I am unsure if your current TW3 Galaxy installation worked fine if you simply copy the files to a new PC (or archive them into an external HDD and later uncompress them back after e.g. Windows re-installation), could be. But the offline installer binaries are the sure way.
You can download the offline installer files in several ways:
- Directly with the web browser.
- Using Galaxy, look under the More (or Extras) section for the offline installer binaries. Do not "Install" the game from Galaxy because that downloads and installs the "Galaxy-version" of the game, which you already have.
- Using the old GOG Downloader client, but this is being phased out passively, GOG doesn't officially support it anymore.
- Then there are some third-party downloaders like lgogdownloader and gogrepo.py, but they might take some time and experience to set up (especially in Windows, in Linux it may be easier, at least it was for me for gogrepo as Linux Mint already had lots of the needed dependencies etc. installed, unlike Windows 7 where it took some research to find and install all the needed dependencies successfully).
These third-party clients are mostly meant for mass downloads, e.g. if you want to download several or all your GOG games in one swoop without having to mouseclick a few thousand times, so they are probably an overkill for downloading just one or few games.
