Goodaltgamer: But I can´t think of any 320*200 game on GOG in the moment?
That would mean CGA only??????? Maximum what EGA?
EDIT removed my part of the quote
SirPrimalform: Really? Most of the DOSBox and ScummVM games use this resolution. Off the top of my head: That would mean CGA only??????? Maximum what EGA?
EDIT removed my part of the quote
Pretty much all the old Sierra adventures
Pretty much all the old Lucas Arts adventures
Beneath a Steel Sky
Lure of the Temptress
Flight of the Amazon Queen
Worms United
Pretty much all DOS games before a certain time used 320x200, I don't think 320x240 was very commonly used (that would give a perfect 4:3 picture with square pixels but I think the extra lines being addressed in that mode limited the colour depth)..
I was never such a fan of King Quest, Larry and similar.....
Lucas Art, were they not mostly in VGA? I do remember the really good graphics back int the old days....
But I had C64, Amiga and PC. and the PC was having the worst graphics ;)
Best example Elite.
Bloody 4 colours ONLY on the PC.......it was horrible compared to the C64.....And even worse to the late version on the Amiga ;)
burkjon: Yes, I'm referring to 320x200, a 16:10 ratio that was meant for 4:3 screens. GOG messes this up by delivering these games in 16:10 which in my opinion constitutes a broken experience. I hope when Windows 10 drops and they give their entire catalog another pass-over, they reconsider the default on this. It affects tons of classic adventure games.
Thanks for the clarification ;) But I am still not sure which games used 320*200.....That is so looooooooong ago, I can hardly remember ;)Even the games SirPrimalform mentioned I don´t remember so well....And I must admit, I haven´t played them on my new HD screen yet ;)
I am talking about my memories with a true monitor, first one being a 14 inch, followed by an unbelievable 15 inch monitor!!!!
Latest one was a 21 Inch.......holly cow, it was kind of bigger than my desk and its weight was around 40 kilos.....Still have it and working though!
