What about an everlasting Insomnia?
It seems there is someone nice at GOG, or up in Heaven. There are many games on my wishlist now on sale, but I doubt my reasons were what made them decide to have good sales for the customer this time. I am very grateful to see nice games (even deluxe versions of some games) on sale now.

Again, arigato :)!

That's perfect timing. ;)

Funny thing, there was a thread last year just before Back to School Sale complaining that there were too many sales and they were starting to feel devaluated. Then there were two days without a single sale, and people lost their mind.

smilingpixels: I'm new here. I have bought some interesting games like Stardew Valley for GOG and I have more games on my wishlist that I want to buy.

To make things clear: I have 47 games on my wishlist and not one of them is on a proper sale here on gog.
Steam can afford to do so as they sell more volume and make more profit....i.e. they can afford to do more sales.

Why not check the sales for stuff to add to your wishlist or buy? Some games are very cheap now and you might find something new you never heard of to play and enjoy.

smilingpixels: It's not that I'm complaining, but I'm kind of pointing out the obvious. GoG deserves better treatment from those making games. Just recently Bloodstained was 31 euros on steam, but on GOG it has to be 36 euros.

CervelloYM: With extra 5 euros you can own the game instead of renting it. Isn't that already great?

I don't remember, in the last 2 to 5 years, ever not seeing something on sale here.

Perhaps because English is the OP's second language and/or rare doesn't mean what s/he thinks it means, saying sales are rare here is just plain factually wrong.

This. I don't think "all the time" can be counted as "rare". There is always a sale going on at GoG. Saving money is all well and good but we also want GoG to survive so they need to make money.

You get a license either way, GOG's license and service are just superior. The rightsholders own the games.

Braggadar: Because, like all businesses that have existed since mankind has been selling goods to one another, a business sets what price it considers it needs to make a profit, stay competitive and stay afloat. When and how often it runs sales is part of this.

Steam is massive and can afford to undercut its competitors. Key resellers are an extension of this effect.
Steam does not set prices and does not undercut anyone. The one thing they do demand is that the rightsholder should not undercut Steam.

Damon18: Humble Bundle?
Do you mean that public library that sells only books and comics on sales in the last 6 months?
They had the complete Crusader Kings 2 for $15 just two weeks ago.
Games on gog are for sale 24/7, so I don't see what is so rare and bad about that.

Lets see: Weekly Sale, Midweek Sale, Weekend Sale.
Yeah, pretty much, though I'm guessing every four years on Feb 29th we're screwed.

That day (29th) is a lie - a LIE I tell ya! Leap year is just like climate change and a good game from the Dallas Cowboys FAKE NEWS.

True, but with GOG the USER can keep their copies without having to crack them if the store goes under and one has them backed up.
