It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

If I refresh the page after it sitting dormant for a few hours, I'm prompted to log in. However, it doesn't appear that I'm actually logged out as I can make purchases and posts with this status active.

Was this a lame duck attempt to patch security on the website (with the official statement being that there is no security breach)? Or is it just something else the web dev team has managed to break and is now gleefully confused as to how to fix it?

The website is really deterring me from GoG lately, and that stinks as it really is a great place to get games otherwise.

EDIT TO ADD: Now I can't even log in as the log in screen just keeps loading with the swirling black circle. So I can do everything I want with no access to my library or account functions like PMs. FIX THIS GOG.

With all the hacked accounts, GOG increased security. Give it a day or two and it'll generate a new random password every time it logs you off.

And people on here wonder why someone might honestly prefer Steam? I appreciate your wit, though.
For some reason, the "Log In" appears to be broken. I keep seeing the "Sign Up" and "Log In" buttons when I go to the Web site, clicking "Log In" just brings up a never ending pacifier.

Oddly enough, I was able to go to the "community" section and make this post with my account, the forums must be keeping a cookie.

paladin181: ...
For the time being try a "use a different browser" workaround.

Seriously tho, some people claim clearing browser cache/cookies/all that good stuff helped. I'd suggest trying a different browser that you never used to log into GOG to find out if that is the case

Same here, also in the GOG Galaxy Client

I tried with two different browsers now, IE and Chrome. Same result. "Log In" just hangs with a pacifier. Maybe someone there is looking at the Web site stats and will see that they have an extremely low number of logins (if any) and get it fixed. I would like to be able to access my library.

Well, Used Chrome and that did no good. I'd rather they fix their broken website than to create workarounds. But meh. I guess I just won't buy anything else till it's fixed.
I'm also getting the sign up/log in buttons, on both chrome and firefox; signed in to gog galaxy just fine and making this post on my account without logging in again.

If you're using GoG Galaxy, apparently you can still access your library. Maybe it's a trick to get everyone off their broken site and on to their broken client.
I can't even get the Galaxy client to connect today in order to sign in. Haven't had issues with it in the past.

haha. nice. Someone must have been paying attention, the login seems to work now.
503 is a serverside error, so we users can not solve this, we have to wait that GOG solves this on their side.

The client also does not work, the login has the same issue. This is just a simple webview and uses the same backend as the website.

Why not simply clear the cache/cookies from the current browser? I think every browser should have an option for that. I've set Firefox to do it automatically whenever I exit the browser (and that is why e.g. Steam pages require the two-step verification from me every time if I try to log in using my web browser, if I have the extra Steam security enabled).
