dtgreene: I'll accept a free game that I'll never download or play, provided it's DRM-free (and I don't have to do extra work, like making an extra account, to claim it).

I consider DRM-encumbered games to have negative value, and therefore I consider free to be too expensive a price for such games.
Same here.
Me neither, also because I know I'll never play it. I think I got Xenonauts with one of these free giveaways, and that at least I've played a lot.
low rated
Obduction is not a game, it's a boring "walking-simulator" and I can't stand those since Kholat came out... so I won't bother with it just because it is free.

It's a puzzle game, what are you talking about.

jepsen1977: I don't hide games or delete them from the library either.
Wait, that's an option?

I think you have to go through support, but it's a thing.

As for the OP... I'm going to a wedding with an open bar next week, but I'll drink nothing but water. No need to toot my own horn about it. If you don't care for the game, fine.
I'm not, because I already bought it some time ago.
I am not grabbing it either but that's because my main gaming PC broke recently so i'm on a old piece of shit PC with outdated OS so the whole home page of GOG is blacked out and blank, there also no button so i can grab the freebie.

I will build a new soon when i have time to buy the parts but not before the sale is over unfortunately, i'm not complaining, it could be a lot worse than missing out on one game.

Neat, good to know. Thanks for clarifying.

You didn't get the " " ? ;)

To me it's a "walking-simulator" with puzzle-elements. Just as boring as Kholat and The Ball. Nothing more.

It started good but it got progressively more boring as the "story" went on.

Same here, so I can't talk about Obduction specifically.

I generally take up a free game it I have some idea that I might actually want to play it in the future. There have been some that I haven't taken up though, but I'd feel uncomfortable going on about what I perceive as negative aspects of a game (from my point of view), when that game is being given away for free.
i'm a hoarder.

sometimes a game surprise me, and I end up liking a game, even though I did not think i would do so to start with. so i tend to try at least as many games as possible, and not judge them until i have tried them.
Gawd, it's a freebie, and the first one in ages from GOG.
Just grab it .... no harm sitting in your library ... and who knows, one day you may change your mind about it ... happens a lot as you get older.

If you have to, just think you are giving GOG support.

I grab all freebies, don't even think about it. Sometimes, that is how you come across pleasant surprises and get around any inherent bias or false understanding you may have.

Speaking of all this can I please have a category setup for my library to switch it to have RPG's show up first, or group titles of a series together or group games by publisher. I just think it would make my library look a lot neater.
I agree with Timboli on free games. I appreciate getting it for free especially from the Myst people. In regards to Myst specifically though I must admit "Lunacy" on the Saturn is a MUCH better game of the same type. If "Lunacy" only got the same recognition that Myst does we'd get more games from that group of people.

Well, yes. Because I already bought it to support Cyan.
