I hate to break it to you, but April was for the press only. It launched in September as a beta that was invite only for normal users, then I believe became publicly available in October. In the past, I also believe they have celebrated September as the anniversary.

Mentioned some others before, let's see how many I can track down...
First, Sep 2.
Second, Sep 23, leaving beta.
Third doesn't have a specific anniversary news post, but conference and giveaway on Sep 22.
Again not something specific but conference and Mac support all the way on Oct 18.
Fifth, Sep 13.
Sixth, Sep 12.
Not finding something explicit for seventh, but the one about one million fulfilled wishlish votes says "almost 7 years" on Sep 18.
... really can't find anything for eighth or ninth.
Just looked through news in this range though, would be more on forums I'm sure.

Wow. From all these speculations this fact looks like game changer.

Just missed my 10th anniversary with GOG as i was able to join on the 11th September 2008. Thats when i bought my first games Freespace 2 and got Descent 3 for free.

Was so excited when i joined and was able to rebuy some of the pc best classic games.
