Darvond: Is it okay if I question how phone cards haven't gone the way of an extinct animal? Why are they sticking around like fax machines?

Wishbone: Fax machines are sticking around? I haven't even seen one in years.
They're still the preferred method for sending legal and other official documents.

Not here ;-)

If stuff like that is sent electronically here, it's usually scanned and emailed.

Well, here in the US, a fax is preferred; I don't know the details why, but I do know it's true.

Seems completely ridiculous, to be honest.

"We need to send this very important legal document, what do we do?"

"Let's run it through the worst A/D B&W conversion algorithm ever devised and print it smudgily on a roll of toilet paper."

"Wouldn't it be better to scan it? Won't that give infinitely better quality?"

"Nope, toilet paper it is."
