Great article!
Very good games!
The promotional spot game industry has changed a lot seeing the attached video, :)

The man was promotioning the Laffer Utilities was Al Lowe, i believe!
Isn't there a new King's Quest out there? Why does GOG not yet have it?
With all these Sierra classics, where is Outpost?

Sure Outpost 1 is rather hard and not quite what it could be, nut Outpost 2 was quite fun amd challenging

Yes, that would be great, both of them. I see the main wishlist entries have about 1000 votes each, plus several duplicates:

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/outpost
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/outpost_2_divided_destiny
high rated

And of course all others linked and mentioned in this thread. ;-)
I heard that, Curtis!

It would be really interesting if GOG managed to get enough access to the code and resource files to add in some of the famously missing content.

Or maybe someone should just make a spiritual sequel. Planetbase and Surviving Mars had potential, but they both lacked the complexity and deep management mechanics that made both Outpost games such a good time. I've occasionally thought about it, but lack the time and energy for a side project of that magnitude.
For a real blast from the past, we need Sierra's 7 original Hi-Res adventures. They're compatible with SCUMMVM now, so wouldn't need anything terribly special to run. I bet GOG could sell at least a couple of copies if they were all packaged together.
What I would really apprciate is if these games were released for MAC users as well. I grew up with Sierra Online and I love these games but it so hard to be able to purchase and play them on a new computer.
man, I'm old... and loving it :D

gonna check out those sales now ;)

Activision -- the current owner of most of these games -- is aggressively indifferent to macOS & Linux users (here, at least). Of the 59 games currently on GOG that Activision publishes, all are Windows-only -- even the games prepared with DOSBox.

How can you not talk about Space Quest here?!
