Aren't we due for a big sale soon ? I know they are not pre announced but has anyone tracked when the big sales are like holiday sales, immsonia sales etc ?

Next sale should be the summer one during June. As to an exact date, it's entirely dependent on when Steam will launch their own (GOG don't want their sales to overlap with those of Steam).

In 2013, it began on 18 June.
In 2014, it began on 13 June.
In 2015, it began on 3 June.

If I should hazard a guess, we should see the summer sale during the next 3 weeks.

We recently had the Bundleopolis sale ending at the beginning of this month.
There'll be no more sales on GOG.

It appears the current rumor is the Steam sale will begin June 23, so maybe GOG will go a week or so earlier...?

If the GOG sale will last two weeks, then GOG would do it two or more weeks earlier than the Steam one to avoid any kind of overlapping with Steam (Last year, Steam's sale began after GOG's sale ended).

There's obviously a pattern there.
In 2016, the sale will begin in 18th of May.

Oh wait...

Fantastic thank you.
Do you have stats on other sales they had throughout the year from previous years ?

Trying to remember how many that have. They at least have one for each season don't they ? and plus one or two immsonia ones ? is that right ?

So GoG wait for Steam to have their first before doing their own then ? ie they don't pick a date and run it , they wait for Steam to have their one and during it GoG prepares their one?

The only sales that have been consistent so far are the summer ones which have always occurred in June, the fall ones which have occurred in November (but they made the debut in 2014) and the winter ones which have always occurred in December. Other than those, there might or might not be some smaller promos for Valentine's Day, Halloween, Saint Patrick, New Year's Day and the like, but nothing set in stone.

It's the other way around. GOG does their sale first before Steam does their own.

Ugh. Sales are beyond boring at this point. We need more games first.

^this, no matter how big a discount on games I already own, and there doesn't appear to be any plans for a complete witcher 3 as yet.
Thanks everyone.

So GoG somehow knows when Steam sales will be ahead of time so they don't overlap. Do Steam announce it or do they work with GoG for this ?

I tend to wait until these sales to make major purchases. Sometimes weekly sales has things but unless I see 50% + off (for games over $16) I tend to wait. The longest I had to wait was a year for a title but I got it cheap.......eventually. :) I have a lot of things in my wishlist that are over $30. Waiting for 50% or more off before I touch those.

Neither. But some people are jerks. It's probably because of one of the so many "game developers" that took advantage of the absence of quality control, like mentioned in one of the first comments of the original reddit thread.
