nightcraw1er.488: I would agree. Had noticed it before, but I count at least 12 threads of this type on the first page, which is most of the first page.
This is also something I have noticed. I suspect most of the client base from before galaxy have gone now, nobody interested in drm free offline installers or websites anymore. It’s all client and linked up social media.
my name is capitayn catte: There were 7 out of 50 when I made this topic yesterday. Even 12 isn't a lot. :P
As for the implication that it's the new users playing forum games... well GOG's mafia community has been going since 2011. And a few of the other game threads are fairly ancient. Let's not blame everything you don't like on "the new guys".
12 is a lot, unless you have the max threads per page you won’t see much else.
No, I didn’t say it’s the new user playing them. What I said was I don’t see many interesting topics anymore, mostly I suspect, due to the new userbase using twitch and twatter, and such like probably.
my name is capitayn catte: I can't say I like the idea of a subforum. Favourited topics only shows favourites for the subforum you're currently in and received replies hasn't been working properly for a while (and only works if someone directly replies to you, rather than just when the thread is bumped). Hiding the games in a subforum would be a death sentence for them, I'm certain of it.
BrianSim: Don't most regulars just keep topics that they regularly post in open as additional browser tabs or bookmarks? I do that with several topics in game-specific sub-forums without needing to manually search for them each time.
Not from my side. Close down FF when I am not using it, cookies/history gets removed. Computer shut down and unplugged when not in use.

Krooked_: I've been coming to GOG more and more over the last year or so because of the offline installers (I haven't touched Galaxy and if I wanted to use a launcher I wouldn't get my games from GOG in the first place) and I'm fairly new here compared to most of the regulars on the forums.
I don't see the harm in forum games. They are a fun way to interact with other members from the community, especially games where you can get creative with your response like "Leave something for the user below you" for example. I mean it's funny how GOG is supposed to be a community for people who share their love for games and there are so many killjoys who would love to spoil the fun of others every chance they get. Not to mention so many users here shit on social media like Facebook or Twitter all the time but they treat this forum exactly like it's their personal Twitter or Facebook wall.
Why are you replying that to me? I didn’t say I didn’t like them, I simply said there are a lot of them. And that actually interesting threads are shrinking, probably due to new users using other medium. I mean do you people even read what I posted!
my name is capitayn catte: ...gee, thanks for that.
GamezRanker: Note that everything he said is the opposite of how things really are....that alone is a dead giveaway, I would think.
my name is capitayn catte: I'm pretty sure n1ght sincerely believes that "most of the client base from before galaxy have gone now, nobody interested in drm free offline installers or websites anymore. It’s all client and linked up social media.".
I would suggest that a fair bit of the old crowd have gone. This is also backed up by the push of galaxy, GOG themselves stated the majority now use galaxy. It’s safe to assume that yes, those who use offline installers and the forum are a dwindling number. As I originally stated, you can see this in the forum topics, apart from the usual set of topics requesting help, there isn’t much else happening. Quite noticeable over the last year or so.
