Weird is in the eye of the beholder. I posted Tom Waits "kommienezuspadt" in a different thread this week, so I won't go back to that one.

Still, I'd wager most of you have never heard Saami joiking set over a dance beat, and for some odd reason dedicated to the state of Texas:

oh oh oh Texas!

Classic.

Somehow I ended up hearing "Mighty penis laser" today when digging through old CDs. That's a pretty weird song.

Maybe this:
Focus - Hocus Pocus

:)
Inkubus Sukkubus - Goth / pagan / vampire band with a very pretty lead singer. They're good fun live as well.
I-Doser.
I don't listen to a lot of synth/videogame music, but I really like this weird album by the composer of the Blocks That Matter soundtrack, and it's free on top of it:

Morusque - De passage en ville
Probably the Bay City Rollers. Those guys are so kooky. My friends are all impressed that I listen to such challenging music.
Thanks for the thread necro. Just took a look at HB (from the original post), and while the Christian aspect of the songs doesn't appeal to me in particular, I do enjoy the music so far.

Anyway, I don't listen to weird music. I listen mainly to symphonic (but not opera-style) metal.

tinyE: Before I say mine, I don't consider 40's jazz/lounge/blues to be weird. Weird to me is anything that borders on not even being music. :P That 40's stuff is not only music....it's REALLY GOOD MUSIC! :D

OT
'Mr. Bungle' and 'Aphrodite's Child' though I rarely put on Bungle anymore and when I do it's usually for only a few minutes.
Wow, Mr. Bungle.... now that evokes some memories. I think my favorite track of theirs was "Squeeze Me Macaroni". However, "Carnival" is very nostalgic as well. Some of the background sound effects came from this one Pinball machine I used to play in college called "The Funhouse".

Made me crack up every time I played the Pinball game.

On that 1st record they sampled video games a few times. I'm pretty sure there was some NES in there.
Weird is subjective. For me, the Bunker Palace Hotel soundtrack is weird, but it's apparently based on traditional bulgarian music, so, heh... Still I completely adore that film and its music.

Its trailer.
Its robot orchestra.

Alas its more characteristic music is only available online in very spoilery video.

Then there's the occasionally weird greek song.

Savvopoulos and Sotiria Bellou going a bit crazy on zeibekiko.
And psarantonis is strange.

Then the delicious soundtrack of my beloved Coup de Torchon.

Unconventionnal but not that much actually.

Do they qualify ? :-/
