My week-long forced exile via the mod ban is over. I am now free to piss ya'll off once more.

Now... what shall we talk about?
There was a project in my University for the street children. The project was a food festival that we would buy and that money would help the street children for admission in schools. So it made me really happy that I was spending money for a good cause :)

15-plus hour day yesterday, but I managed to make it home a day early. Worked 5+ hours, then drove 4, then worked another hour somewhere else, then 5 1/2 hour drive home. About 600 miles and five states yesterday, plus two customers. Whupped, but home.
It's Friday and my emails are not too crazy.
1. My niece and nephews.
2. Triggering edgelords.
Hearing about a month-long game jam that I might actually participate in.

(I have an idea for a game that fits the theme, and I think I know what language and "graphics" library I want to use; it's now just a matter of writing it and dealing with any game design issues that come up.)

dtgreene: I'm not talking about all those who voted for the losing side.

I am talking about those minorities who the new president has talked openly about hating; apparently he'd rather have his son die than be gay.

joppo: I already talked about that upthread. I'm not going to keep repeating myself. Have a nice day.
Jair Bolsonaro will weed out corruption in Brazil. I have no doubts that he is getting ready to clean house with those dirty politicians and thieves.

That's our main hope about his tenure. His invitation to judge Sergio Moro for Ministry of Justice was a good sign that brazilians may have actually chosen a president that cares about stopping corruption for once. Moro accepted BTW.

For those who do not know Sergio Moro is the judge that headed Operation Car Wash since its beginning. Its results so far include hundreds of politicians and lobbyists arrested and it is still going strong.

Moro's nomination on wednesday or thursday has had me "happy today" all these days :)
I got some important things done for school and I've managed to get some rest too. :)

The weekend and the beginning of next week will be full of movies I need to go see for school. :D

- Dogman

- Shoplifters

It was so good and filled with warmth along with strong messages I gave it its own thread. ;)

- Aga

Just finished watching a speedrun of Dragon Quest 3 SFC. I am thinking of replaying DQ3 myself and haven't decided whether to try the SFC version (with fan translation), replay the GBC version (in English with only one known bug), or to brave the SFC version unpatched and in Japanese. (The Japanese GBC version apparently has a few bugs, so it's not being considered, while the FC/NES version has some ugly and poorly designed mechanics (HP/MP gains especially), and any later versions of the game are not available to me.)

It was interesting seeing how the speedrun did certain things. (The SFC version is apparently a very popular speedgame in Japan.)
Busy Monday for gOg. 3 releases, a language update, and a themed sale. Good stuff.

Edit: and the sale got its own page, with a linear list. Hallelujah!

Michigan (my home)
1st Female Muslim elected to Congress

Colorado
1st openly gay Governor of a state

Let's hope in fifty years we treat this the same we now treat all the crap Kennedy got for being Catholic, with a laugh at how ridiculous all the uproar was.

Let's hope in fifty years we finally become a country that elects people based on the content of their character and their ideas rather than what pronoun they slap on their name tag.

Or that we don't refuse to elect people based on what pronoun they slap on their name tag. It works both ways.

Sure, you can say we shouldn't vote for someone because of their religion, but in turn, we shouldn't refuse to vote for someone because of their religion.
