My old Mouse, Razer Basilisk V.2 was hitting its very last day, as it was for some time suddenly losing its connection and turned itself off... on different USB slots, while on the same slots other peripherals was without issues.
Yesterday in the evening the mouse definitely left me... it was not enabling itself anymore. It was a very performant mouse with a 20 000 dpi optical sensor and in my mind there is no need for a even higher DPI sensor, because simply overkill... way more than anyone would truly need. This sensor tracks well enough that it works on every single surface with sufficient precision. Although current "record holders" (Basilisk V.3 Pro and alike) tracks even at 30 000 or even more DPI.
So, i was ordering me now a new mouse, actually 2 days ago, which has arrived today. I had in mind i will now try something new, because so far no mouse ever was able to survive more than around 3 years... worst case was just about 1 year (did not even get warranty back those days, not so fun). So, this time i was picking the most sturdy piece i was able to find in hope it may finally survive even longer and with sufficient performance. I got me the Madcatz Rat 8+ ADV which as well got a 20 000 dpi optical sensor. Although it is a very heavy mouse, actually a rat... which i totally admit it is the correct nametag for. Clearly impressed by the overall quality and simply how it has been built... not a boring mouse, surely something to feel curious about. Unfortunately, Madcatz does not seem to continue building those rats anymore, so it could be the last time i may experience this unique rat. Dunno why, but most likely manufacturing costs are simply to high and to low margin. So, i am glad my killed mouse actually made me buy and experience something new and unique... before i may never experience it anymore.
