I'm making some real progress on the embroidery project I started months ago. :P

Also, it snowed last night, effectively binding me to the house. On the one hand that was somewhat sad, as I was going to go to the cinema with my sister, but on the other hand, it was the perfect excuse to just stay in all day. The cinema will still be there tomorrow, after all.
For me the snow yesterday was a good motivation to good out and do some walking. I went walking to the forest and fields nearby, back home I did some gaming and watching video and didn't even have to cook as I had a nice Indonesian meal I had cooked a double portion of two days before.

The day before yesterday was a good day as well: went to see the Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies with a friend and afterwards had dinner with him in a Thai restaurant. And but for a brief spell of worrying about the position of atheists in IS controlled areas, I spend almost a full 48 hours without worrying about all the suffering in the world, which is an extremely long period of enjoying life instead of suffering depression.

Looking back on those two days, makes me feel happy today, so I'm on topic.
Just remembered my mother's compliment from a few days ago. She looked at a picture of me from a few years ago and said: "you didn't look any younger then." Still makes me smile.

It was meant as a compliment ("you don't look any older") just didn't get out right. She made fun of it, told me that the other day someone asked her how she felt how she was, and she said "less terrible", so he told his wife on the phone "she says she's feeling better". It just depends on the outlook.

Sure they can, but I probably wouldn't have counted it as a "what made you happy" post if it she intentionally said something crappy. Not that she would, she's a very nice mum. That's why it was clear to me what she meant and we laughed about it.
I picked up a Chromecast adapter for my HDTV today :) Previously I'd used my Wii to watch Netflix on. Now I can watch Netflix in 1080p :D
I looked at old family pictures of when I was skinny, my parents were younger than me now and my nephews and nieces were babies. There were even some of our last family dog when he was a puppy. There is one picture of me and a cousin at his parent's unfinished summer camp where we are playing chess with a game we made ourselves because neither of us had brought our.

It was made with pieces of branches roughly sculpted, the black pieces still had their bark while the white ones did not. I used to look so freaking young. That cousin is two years younger than me and we look the same age. It was summer 1978 so I was 14 and he was 12. It's no wonder I got carded until I was 25 (legal age for anything is 18 here).

What the hell, I attached the picture. I'm on the left.

I had a good great morning talk with my wife while we had breakfast... It was a long time since we shared that time together =)

HypersomniacLive: To find out that the brain tumour a good friend of mine has is not malignant. :-)
Still going to need surgery though as it 's growing. :(

EDIT: typo in a two letter word.. (◔̯◔)
My friend won't undergo surgery; instead they're going to have a special procedure and it's scheduled for this Thursday.

That's kind of scary as anything that has to do with the brain is as it is the seat of our personality, one step, successful or not, can kill a personality and birth another one. Do you know what that special procedure is? The only thing I can think of is radiation therapy but my medical knowledge is lacking.

It is indeed scary. The procedure is a very specialised type of radiation therapy called Gamma Knife Brain Radiosurgery.

I've head about that before. I hope it works well for your friend.
