kai2: As I see it, greasy was making valid points for an apolitical thread and in fact hedwards was pushing that everything is political... thus promoting the descent into politics that many threads take.

I do not know greasy and I do not know hedwards. I do not know their histories or their general behavior, but I do know one seemed to be promoting a certain ticket to locking this thread... and the other wasn't.

Am I reading this scenario incorrectly? If so, I'm all ears.
Greasy tends to come into some threads(mostly mine it seems) he finds political with complaints about the politics in them. He seems(from what I have read that he told me) to think some here post things that are against the rules(namely the vague no politics rule specifically) and this bothers him so he replies as such(He has also basically told me he has no qualms with possibly derailing threads he finds break the rules here).

Heck, I made one thread on news and he derailed it for a few pages claiming it was political and when I asked him to take it to PM to not derail thread or to move to another thread he said he didn't want to and kept at it until I threatened to report him.

Hedwards, on the other hand, seems to be calling out the nonsense in greasy's seeming "this/that is politics and against gog rules" shtick by showing how everything or near to it could be seen as political and thus banned here if one thought long and hard enough.

He also seems to be usually less prone to getting upset at various things than greasy does, from what i've seen.

I avoid threads if I'm not interested in them.

YOU tend to turn topics political.

I'd have no issue with political threads. I clearly have political beliefs and opinions... in case you didn't notice my avatar image.

This place had some cracking down on political opinion... of which I was a 'victim'.

I don't mind though... I can live with the rules. What bothers me is when they're enforced hypocritically.

Quote me on that liar. Then again, as stated many times, you don't think abortion is a political topic so maybe you actually can't read and genuinely think I was saying that I derail on purpose.

I wasn't off topic fool.

And I have enough common sense to clearly recognize political content.

Good for him.

EDIT: Here is the thread in question.
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/good_news_everyonea_general_good_news_threadcurrent_eventshappeningsetc

Your "GOOD NEWS" thread.

An apolitical title to a thread where you talk nothing but politics.

Judge for yourself if you think I derailed that shit.

GameRager: Mother Theresa actually did some questionable stuff in the name of good(she advocated for people suffering as getting closer to god, for one), and some are now claiming MLK might have been a womanizer(this might be pure BS, though).....take of it what you will.
Everybody has some funny idea, but I do subscribe to the idea that humans are happiest when they are solving some problems. We live to struggle, at least a little.

For MLK and womanizing, I couldn't care less to be honest. That's between him and his wife. That he might not have been the best of husbands (and if I had been a woman and married to him, I would have minded), but doesn't take away from all the good things he did. He was a husband to one person. He was influential for countless people.

Honestly, unless they violate consent (ie, rape), I don't understand why good people are getting crucified for marital indiscretions in 2019.

True enough.
