gogamess: It was Rutger Hauer on the second pic? ^_^
It is.
Not his finest performance, but still a memorable one. For a role in a film based on one of the mock trailers in the Grindhouse double feature, that is.
Still hoping for that Werewolf Women of the SS feature-length to get made one day. Nicolas Cage as Fu Manchu needs to happen. And Udo Kier isn't getting any younger as well.

But on to the next one:

Wow... I want that as a pendant. Or earrings.

What, Jesus Mouse or the discarded SCORPIONS patch?

Mouse earring, I'm just wondering what my colleagues would do when I came to work with this tomorrow.

Is that a pig's head? Somehow I think this is not the Scorpions documentary that I've seen recently.

Yes, and you'd be correct with that assumption.

So we have an old communist office with Erich and Stalin and an unorthodox firefighter.
Altogether, this looks extremely weird... But music seems to play a role.

An office alright, but the communist/socialist memoribilia is more or less just there for decorative purposes.
At that part of the film it's roughly 2 years into the post-Cold War era, so actually not that old as it may seem.

That it does indeed.
'Extreme' being a very fitting descriptor in regards to the nature of the music resp. the subgenre of music the film basically revolves around.

I've never seen it, but Lords of Chaos is what it seems to be.

Last one? Then I'll venture a guess: Lords of Chaos

Oh nooooooo, to late :-(

Can't blame, it's a very niche subject matter after all.
But quite watchable nonetheless, even if you have just a passing interest in the origins of the various, more 'extreme' underground subgenres of commercial mainstream Heavy Metal. Gore hounds should get their fill in any case with a very graphic and almost too realistic suicide and two of the arguably most drawn-out and fvcking brvtal stabbings ever put on film.

You're it.

Yeah, I was reading up on it before I posted the response to the thread. As soon as I saw a few names in it, I immediately began to piece together how it might be. At some point I'll find myself watching it, but given how slowly I tend to get to "recent" releases, it'll probably be a solid year out if not more before I ever do.

That said, if you're cool with it I'm going to pass this off to HiasX since I actually don't have anything to post. I just looked up "Gol Stave church in film" and happened to land on Lords of Chaos. Just in case they don't re-check the thread, here's a quote to make sure their notifications pick it up...

I'm just chiming in here to note, that this movie has very little to do with reality.
The director changed a lot although he was part of that scene back then to on the one hand get back at some people he doesn't like (mostly Varg, for good reasons) and because he thought it would make a better movie.

It's about as far away from the truth as "Bohemian Rhapsody", so quite far.
