Kingdoms of Amalur?

csanjuro: Kingdoms of Amalur?
It's not, no. I'll post another clue tomorrow morning, then I'll start showing more of the character/creature models, if no-one gets it. (I'm a bit concerned that might give it away quite quickly though)
Ok, here's a new clue - another nice little fishing spot.

We haven't had many guesses so far, so I'll plan to post another clue this afternoon, showing one of the character/creature models.

It's not Amerzone, no. It's not the right genre.

That second screen kinda gives me a feeling as if there's a Royal Ludroth waiting for me around the corner, but none of the screens look familiar with any Monster Hunter I've played. (Everything is looking quite "empty" anyways, no carves no monsters or anything...) And if it was one of the PC based titles it would've certainly been solved already... No idea. But that new hint will hopefully help.

A Royal Ludroth? What sort of fish is that?!
Ok, here's another clue, this time showing a creature model.

There's some other wildlife to be found along this fishing trail. This one looks like Jar Jar Binks had sex with a deer! ;-)

The last pic kinda reminds me of Return to Mysterious Island (not sure if 1st or 2nd).

To follow up on this and the Amerzone guess: the graphics are real-time rendered, they're not pre-rendered. It's not a point & click.
Some hunting sim that includes prehistoric or otherwise extinct creatures?

Aaah ... you're kind of a little bit warm with that.
I'm a bit surprised no-one's guessed it yet. I'm getting the impression very few people here seem to have played it, despite it being quite a mainstream game. I'll start posting some more blatant shots tomorrow.
If "hunting sim" was "a little bit warm", maybe it's a "creature collector" game? I've never played any of those myself though, and it doesn't look like a Pokemon or a Digimon game from what I can tell :)
It's not any pokemon or digimon game. Is it Shadow of the Colossus?
