Two days ago my Dad had surgery, nothing big or too risky but it was supposed to eliminate a serious chronic condition he's had for almost two years. My parents live far away, my Mom already told me that everything went fine but I didn't have a chance to talk to him yet. That I'm not entirely up to date on his condition after the surgery is kinda worrying me on a subconscious level, so today I had a nightmare where my Dad had died during that surgery. He was already dead but I could still talk to him because... he was walking around as a talking cat. His "condition" was weird, somehow he had already died but was still around for a couple of hours or days in cat form. I'm not entirely sure whether those were supposed to be his last moments of his life or kind of a presence as a ghost... it sure as hell was weird though, especially because in the dream it seemed perfectly natural to me. And at the same time I was mourning his death and telling Cat Dad to put an end to it already and just go. I was insanely disturbed when I woke up.
The other day I had a dream that I was sitting on my living room couch. There were three tigers lounging on the floor, one large tiger, one medium, and one small. The large one was saying how he could fit the small tiger's head in his mouth. The medium tiger disagreed. So, the large tiger then turned into an alligator with massively long and thick teeth (his head was now as big as his body) and then he put the small tiger's head in his mouth.

At that point I got up and left.
I have had reoccurring nightmares on occasion, and a few times when one has started I have realized what was going on. Once at this point I picked up my phone and went "Operator, I need an exit, fast."

I promptly woke up feeling great, exactly as if I had beaten a difficult game.
A little trick I like to use when having nightmares is to pinch my nose and swallow (inside the dream). I promptly wake up every single time I do that, and I also always have a very gratifying feeling when I wake up after doing that :)

It can also really get messed up when you are able to exert influence on your dream. The furthest I managed to get with that is being able to soar arround through the air by making swimming movements, and the one time I turned myself into a Khornate Chaos lord with Terminator Armour and a Deamon sword and turned the tables on my nightmare was very funny as well (it was a nightmare about the video game FEAR, you ought to have heard the little alma sqeal >:) )

A friend of mine, who is a huge Mass Effect geek, reportedly had a dream about being chased arround a japanese willow house by a horny reaper; but I don't know if he was being serious or not. Would be really cool if he was speaking the truth...
I remember I was part of a space crew in a space ship where a disaster had happened. I had no idea what it was but according to monitors and other crew members there were spaceships around us but still, the captain was somehow dead and we stood still in space. Then I found out that crew members were being killed, one by one I believe, but me and a few survivors never found the body.

I think the dream sort of jump skipped and then it was only me and another survivor. He died of course, can't remember the detail but what happens next was what caused me to remember this dream:

I know I'm being haunted by something and for some damn reason I recall it was a dog, I'm not sure if it was a dog from Earth. Anyway, I knew everything would end if it killed me too so I picked up a blade from my utility belt that apparently everyone just had on them and slit my own throat. I can still remember the warm feeling of losing blood and the haunting entity being behind me. The weird part was that it wasn't a nightmare type of dream, it was more like a weird mind play but also very exciting.

I've another one too.

I enter a police station and the atmosphere is really weird like something is very wrong. I start to walk up to the reception and want to talk to the one in charge or anyone who might know what's going on and at least 2 people, one whisper, one shouts that I shouldn't do that without explanation. I hesitate, some time flows but then do it anyway because I can't stand the atmosphere. I walk up and discuss with some entity behind the glass door. I don't remember what we discussed but it was a conflict that had nothing to do with the eerie atmosphere of the police station. Suddenly I become angry and open the glass door and witness an alien creature and then I'm feeling fear like no other and a force pushing me away towards the wall of the opposite side. I died of fear and I woke up sweating.

That was definitely a nightmare and I was half-shaking the whole day after that yet like the similar dream I described above it was exciting for some reason specifically the part of dying by fear, that had never really entered my mind before that vividly.
Does no one here have the feeling sometimes, in a dream, that they have already dreamt the dream they're in a long time ago?

I recently had that feeling, I was dreaming, and it seemed I had already had the exact same dream before, in my childhood. Quite creepy. But lovely being able to predict what was going to happen.

The dream involved bottlenecking evil leprechauns on to the stairs to my bedroom and exterminating them en masse with a variety of weapons from descent III by the way.

I really need help (more help then I'm getting already in my case).

Now THAT sounds like the sort of dream I'd want to have :D

The most surreal one I have ever had, leaving the idiotic and wacky aside was one involving Hitler and Stalin (you might have noticed they also recurred in the dream I initialy posted, and this theme comes back every once in a month or so)

So, I was being driven through paris by Hitler, in a motorcycle with a sidecart (the German type from WW II). He was very happy at conquering the french so swiftly, and clearly begging for a compliment from me, which I happily provided him with. We chatted a bit about cows and calfs, and I suddenly noticed we were driving arround in an area which looked exactly like the road my parents and I used to take to my Todller school many many years ago.

There we drove towards a hanger, where Stalin was waiting for us with a big smile. He had invited me and Hitler to discuss the latest stages of their arms race where avionics was concerned. In the hangar stood an A-40 flying tank

(https://www.google.be/search?hl=nl&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1366&bih=631&q=Ivanov+Shiskhin&oq=Ivanov+Shiskhin&gs_l=img.3...770.4979.0.5249.15.11.0.4.0.0.59.591.11.11.0.msedr...0...1ac.1.61.img..5.10.543.rMeoS0_gA5E#hl=nl&tbm=isch&q=soviet+A+40+flying+tank&imgdii=_)

Hitler and Stalin discussed the advantages of such a powerfull weapon for a while, before, of course, coming down to politcs, at which point I joined the discussion with my marxist viewpoints, which they both thought were rather idiotic and funny. In the end Hitler joked in a friendly manner that whatever airplane Stalin devised, his Ho 229's would be able to take care of them with extreme ease.

It thought that he would have less chique talk when the English and professor Mortimer finished work on the Swordfish SX-1, but I decided to keep that as a surprise.

We sat down at a small circular table, had tea and scones, and we spent the rest of the dream chatting merrily about cute animals. We all agreed that we loved cats, and Hitler said he would prefer to have a duck as national emblem, since ducks look awsjum and all that. We agreed on his excellent decision and finished the tea, and I left for a visit to my grandfather (who, actually, at the time of the dream, was deceased). Having left the hangar I woke up

The weirdest part is that these persons were genocidal mass murderers, and I chat with them and they amongst each other in a very chappy manner. I always feel very dirty when I've had those dreams...
and the one time I dreamt my brother had eaten my hidden stash of cookies was weird too. I felt like strangling him.

Next morning I wanted to take a cookie. My brother had eaten the whole stash. I felt like strangling him.

As a kid, I had occasional nightmares until I realized that I could wake up by concentrating on exaggerating the opening of my eyelids... Sort of my Inception Totem...

Yes, me. But not for a while now. It was a dream I had repeatedly for several years, but it was non of the idiotic/whacky/surreal kind.

In this dream I was barricading my parents house because of the Zombocalypse, then running up the stairs to get to the terrace door in the attic, followed by climbing down a nearby apple tree and finally escaping the horde by jumping over fences and sneaking in the gardens of the neighbourhood. When I finally reached my grandparents house on the other side of the block--where it is also in reality--it instantly turned into my parents house where I hastily barricaded, ran upstairs, and so forth.

Usually this dream looped between twice and five times before I woke up.
I once had a dream about a nuclear explosion. When I died, i woke up... that was weird
I had the same dream!
