I was tricked by polish box publisher to buy some drmed games (there was no sign of drm on package nor internet information about it), that's why I have steam account and thanks to GOG one of them I could reclaim but others even from the same packet (2 games in 1 publication) doesn't work. I still believe someday I will recapture them by gog connect or maybe my second key will be possible to reclaim on GOG. I will not pay two times cause I got tricked.

I have waited for 1st of new series XCOM and Lords of the Fallen drm free for years and we have them on GOG. I won't buy Dark Souls and other From Software games because of drm. I won't buy Paradox games somewhere else than GOG too.

That was few quick examples but there are a lot more games that I can live without because of their drm.

Currently, all of them.

- If it existed, I might have considered a service that is to games was Netflix is to tv shows and movies (though at this point, I have a huge backlog which is pretty much my personal Netflix collection)
- If there was one that was made for people with lives, I might have considered a game as a service with a monthly fee as the possibility of persistence with several players does bring something to the table, but I have no time and all those kinds of games are extremely competitive and only seem to provide satisfaction when you sink huge amounts of time and/or money into the game

I will never condone what Steam is doing where they are selling games as goods and then treating it like a service or what World of Warcraft did where they were double-dipping (selling the game upfront and then charging a monthly fee too).

I'm not against any kind of remote access, but I'm definitely against corporate greed and control-freakness. Remote access needs to be justified in terms of some sort of consumer advantage and in that regard, gamers have been suckers for way too long.

A bit late but thanks for explaining. However, given that what you say is true, how does GOG's "fair price package" work then? Is it only for when the publishers actually set unfair pricing between US and EU?

Could you please explain on Darksiders 3 for example? GOG listed price is 68.04 USD with 8.05 USD compensated with wallet funds due to fair price package. If Americans actually pay more than 60 USD like you say, then why does it get compensated on GOG to correspond with the Steam's listed price of 60 USD? To add to that, Steam only allows me to buy in euros so I have to pay 60 euros on steam and 60 USD on GOG. Which is quite a big deal.
