Hello everyone!

To be honest, I actually prefer the real thing. The only reason I switched to digital is because I'm afraid I'll eventually run out of room. On top of that, it makes older comics much more affordable. The digital copy of Uncanny X-men #1 is going for $2.00. The price I'm looking at right now is $1,288.00. That's a savings of $1,286.00!
As with any product overall, I prefer the real thing of course. But I can say that the differences between physical and digital copies of comics aren't as significant as with games being digital or physical. Though offering comics physically also expands sales to nearly everyone with cash, and no matter how you look at it, its just better.
There are pro's and con's to both digital and physical. I prefer physical, but the option to chose the format is a good thing as you can pick what suits your own needs. Cheers.
By the way, are there drm-free digital comics stores? There have been a couple of Humble Bundles, but are they the exception?

For books I don't really care, but I can't enjoy digital comics as much as the real deal.

I'm the opposite. I don't really like reading books digitally, but I have less of a problem doing it with comics. Though I still prefer physical versions in either cases. But I actually never bought a digital comic/book, it's either via piracy(online readers for manga) or free webcomics/novels.
with multiple spin-offs and infinite reboots, digital or physical comics lost its touch in a time far far away for me
I like them. I think that they require a good device with a high resolution screen to be truly enjoyable. My Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is pretty good, although a larger one could be even better.

This sounds strange, considering that games are digital by nature. What do you mean?

Then by 'physical', I mean games that come packed in a physical form such as a DVD or floppy drive.

*Some* publishers on Comixology provide drm-free backups. But you have to check if a specific item has that feature.

EDIT: Useful link: Comixology DRM-Free Backup

I would prefer to buy physical copies, but digital has some nice conveniences (sometimes cheaper, occupies less space, etc.).

I used to get comics when I was a kid for something like 2.50, 3.50, 4.50, 5.00 at the very most. and I'd see old prices of like 1.50, 1.75.

it's like 6.75 or 7.00 or 8.00 or 9.00 a book now. so fuck that.

more power to you, comics. but fuck that.

anyway digital comics... ehhhh. sucks for indy comic books stores.

edit: maybe I'm being a bit harsh but honestly, given the way the books are structured, you can easily end up reading half a dozen or so series just comfortably. at 7.00 a book, that's a lot.

Thank you! That looks interesting, I'll check it out.
If you're a collector, you will still want the physical copies since digital ones won't appreciate in value. Digital comics do make good backups, though. Since there are so many titles to choose from and not enough space, I just buy physical copies for a few titles and am starting to get into digital.

Another to check out is Image Comics, which sells most or all of their comics DRM-free.

I am posting here like kamikadze, didn't even read posts yet. I say - yes to digital comics! They are awesome! You know why? Because for my own personal use I can just as well print them on as big paper as I like and have both digital and paper comics. Also, it's handy to just transfer them comics to the phone and read 'em on the go.

I shall read the posts now.

Edit. Though I must agree, physical ones give this better feeling. Somehow they are nice than digital ones.
