snowkatt: i personally like nico but the marble index is cold clinical and chilling the music is as cold and as haunting as marble
the whole thing feels like it was cut out of marble
and nico cut an idiosyncratic swath through music with her albums marching to nobodies beat but her own

either you hate it or you love it

she also tackled the end which sounds even more disturbing then the original

Dessimu: I listened to Nico - Evening of Light. She has an interesting voice, made me want to listen to whatever she would sing. The song itself sounded...like a chant. I closed my eyes and imagined a women being held captive in the white dungeon, behind ice cold steel gates. And her voice would echo through every corridor and into every man's heart, overseeing a foul and tragic end. As if she knows and she is ready. Chanting - the best word to describe it I guess.

T'is not the song I would listen on my daily basis as it has certain and very strong emotional effect. But I have to listen to the album to be able to tell anything more.
yeah most of nico's songs have that effect its best to take it one song at a time because they are so emotionally overwhelming
the marble index is all cold dark corridoors and starteling crystal clear ice
and its the most "mainstream" with desertshore and the end she digs even deeper in to haunting drones

chelsea girl is actually the most mainstream of her albums but nico hated it because she was overruled by her producers and they didnt listen to her input

(And just for good meassure, I'll throw another of their songs from the same youtube channel, Birds Of Prey. It's not featured in the Anthology album, but then, Rome has so many great songs in their amazing and blazing fast career; ten years and ten albums).
