I'm looking for something funkyish or jazzy, like Jamiroquai or Tortured soul or something like that. And I'm looking for a cool rock band with a female front. No metal and no excessive screaming, i'm looking for something either like Darling Violetta or Siouxsie & the banshees. The more contralto the voice, the better.
I'd be forced to recommend The Pretty Reckless... They are a pretty much straight up rock band, they do sing of Hell a lot, but the other upside is Taylor Momsen is very hot.

Saw them in concert here at 98 Rockfest... I have literally the best available VIP seats for their tour here in September! Can't wait! Also they are starting to get just a smidgen of radio play.
They have a pretty wide range too... Check "You" or "Nothing to lose"

also this is probably one of their louder songs... The above two are far mellower.
