qwixter: Given the price, Astrox Imperium was an instant buy for me.

ariaspi: Same for me.

Also, Starpoint Gemini 3 will have its price increased soon, so grab it while you can at the current price.
Do you know if they are good about keeping the gog version updated?

IronArcturus: Interesting. Have you tried the game yet?
No I haven't, I was just reading the other day about Indie games that are bold enough to custom build their own engine, and recall this was one of them.
Does anyone play Astrox Imperium in an older (read: weaker, underpowered) PC or laptop? I've always wanted to try EVE Online but MMOs aren't my cup of tea, so this seems to be the best singleplayer alternative from what i've read.

Still, even though the current discount is very nice, I'm on the fence about it because my PC is weaker than what's listed in the minimum reqs; i'm alright in the CPU/RAM dept but my GPU is quite underpowered by today's standards; it's an ATI Radeon 5830 1GB.

So, to anyone who's been playing it in an older system/laptop or one that's equipped with a similar GPU like mine, how's your experience with it? Does it struggle to maintain a steady framerate even in lowest graphics settings, or is the code optimized so good that it runs nicely even in older systems?

Thanks~!
I am not sure. The dev is pretty active on steam and you might try there or posting to the game forum here to get his opinion. The 1gb vram might be more limiting. If your cpu and psu is good, you might think about upgrading to a better gpu for $80 - $100. Maybe even cheaper if willing to get used.

About Starpoint Gemini 3? It seems so. It got like two updates monthly, so far, and their older games are all updated, as far as I know.
Anyone played Darkstar One?
Is it like Port Royale in space?

MobiusArcher: Thank you! I got scared.
Don't be, sometimes there's also good news in that thread.

Thanks for the input; upgrading my PC is out of the question since i'm still satisfied by its performance. There are so little new games (especially AAA) that really interest me, that buying a new GPU feels like wasted money to me at this point. Maybe i'll reconsider at some point, but for now i enjoy what i have.

Outriders: Anyone played Darkstar One?
Yeah, me... even completed it.

It's... fun, for a while. Like a poor man's Freelancer. The story and characters are really cringeworthy, but the mechanics are solid. It's very repetitive but it has that "one more system, one more mission" charm. And it looks great - for its time.

Sounds good to me. Thanks.
Could we get Cyberpunk with a 95% pre order discount? C'mon, it's a sci fi game right. :P

FWIW, the game runs flawlessly on my PC (AMD Phenom II 955 3.2GHz - 4GB RAM - Radeon 5830 1GB) with the graphics settings set to maximum @ 1080p. This could change later if there's a graphics overhaul planned, but as of the current version the performance is excellent. YMMV of course.
