SNK 40th Anniversary is a really nice grab as you get a great range of games from many genres, plus many also include console ports and Crystalis is in the collection as well.

I already own SNK40 on Steam. Grabbed it mainly for Prehistoric Isle but it's a solid compilation with lots of stone cold classics, including the venerable Crystalis. Could've done without the game about the car with the grabby hands but the Athena games are a riot. I'm hoping they add mouse control to the one lone light gun game in the set.

I'm not sure the SNK discount mentioned on Twitter ( https://twitter.com/GOGcom/status/1445045810928959488 ) is working.

Also, are these still the shitty DotEmu ports that barely worked? (Except for Garou and Last Blade 2 since THOSE got fixed up)

Not sure, but I know I didn't have issues running any of them. Got them off Humble years ago. But I bought the 40th anniversary because $9 is not bad.

Even though I already own Tropico 5, it will be a dollar cheaper to buy Tropico 5 complete edition as a standalone product than it will be to buy the upgrade only - who comes up with such daft ideas of good marketing?

For €5,- the "SNK 40th Anniversary Collection" was an instabuy.
What can I say - I'm an old guy and I like old games.

more than just the games, you get a museum-like presentation on them with many info and in-game extras.
Also, there's features like rewind and gameplays you can watch in which you can jump in the action at any time you want. I believe this is quite an innovative feature.

They're awful when compared to the real deal. Lots of bad audio and skipping.

That said I got a discount coupon for some of these in the mail, it made them cheaper.

Mm.. I'm not very impressed by that Anniversary Collection.. a launcher for limited obscure\mediocre titles.
And a lot of the other SNK games have bad reviews about the port quality.

I'll probably get only a few discounted KOF from the newsletter.
(I already own the Metal Slug games instead)

I have a Pandora's Box, so not that messed up about it. If I want the arcade, I'll just plug it in and play that way.
