AlexTerranova: It was on sale in March. Any plans to remaster IWD 2 were abandoned for good several years ago, but it was often discounted in 2020. Therefore, I assume, these facts are unrelated.

It is normal for a game to skip sales for a long time due to marketing or some other reasons. For example, Realms of Arkania series was on sale for the last time almost a year ago.

I would expect them both to be discounted again on the Winter sale in December.)

You can check price history here: ( timeframe can be adjusted under the chart )

kai2: Not saying that you're wrong, but...

... I checked Ciemnogrodzianin's sale thread for March 2020 -- and found Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition -- but didn't find Icewind Dale 2 listed. Either I missed it (which could be the case) or the tracker you listed is incorrect. With that said...

I also have a price tracker notification app that hasn't alerted me of a change in GOG's Icewind Dale 2 price for years.

I would almost bet you money Icewind Dale II will not be on sale in December. ;)
I've seen it on sale afew times this year though with all the regular sales and some multiple at the same time its fair to say it was not noticed and failed to pop/show on the app whatever it is because of such a case

Tarhiel: I wouldn´t mind one big release at the end of the week :)

pazZzurro: Funny thing is, lots of people talk about Skyrim recently. Though I don't really care much for it (already got it for free on Steam), Skyrim did release 10 years ago in November... could be a nice anniversary occasion ;)

Edit: Just noticed a Bethesda sale suddenly, out-of-the-blue... hmmm :P
Honestly I would bet if a new Bethesda game they atleast own the ip to it'll be Rage 1 or Rage 2 given Skyrim has Microtransactions at this point and has had new content added .. Though given it seems Fallout 4's microtransactions are indeed dead if not very very dorment that might be a feesible one to pop aswell .. Though I'd want more Doom games we have yet to get here even old doom ports and some Woftenstian games that I don't think is currently for sale anywhere other then maybe key selling sites and used game copies

Oh, Rage 2 would be great. I like Avalanche studios games - they are fun open-world titles and they would compliment Mad Max and the recent Just Cause games nicely.

Oh good point now that I think about it hasn't the last few big out of nowhere game releases been destructive based games or mayhem causing ? Asking as if so seeing as data from Rage was found in the GOG code .. Well Rage would fit in this trend very well and work for one of the last big game releases for this year as I think maybe one game or two was not fitting this trend and I believe those two was released before this trend started

I´d prefer Skyrim Anniversary Edition :)
The Technomancer at that sale price would be a buy, but that crashing on cpus with more than 4 cores issue keeps me away. And no, having to change core settings and reboot your pc is NOT an acceptable solution.

It seems the problem is with CPUs with more than 8 cores, based on this thread from the game forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/the_technomancer/cpu_cores_problem

It works on my Ryzen 5 3600 at least.
I just bought Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Digital Deluxe Edition. Opening the library shows that two versions have been added:
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus German Edition
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

The question is why? It just doesn't feel right to me to receive a second Deluxe Edition for free, which is something German customers likely don't get when they buy this version here. Since it would just sit in my library, would it be possible to gift and transfer the German Edition to someone who might have an interest in this game?

I'm venturing a guess it's some kind of censored version? So basically wouldn't it be - in a way - a worse version of that game?

We'll probably get Binding of Issac for today's sale.

It doesn't matter where you are. Everyone is getting the same two versions of the game. The german version is censored compared to the international version but the international version doesn't include german audio. So that's why both versions are added.

Yes, it is. Maybe there is an uncut patch or tutorial how to remove censorship. This version is completely useless to me and likely anyone else. Someone might still want it. Darowanemu koniowi w zęby się nie zagląda, no? :)

I still don't understand why, but okay. Then at least it isn't the same situation with another game, Succubus, was it? Where international customers also receive both versions censored/uncensored, while Germany and customers from some other countries, most likely Australia, only receive the censored one.

So there is only this last question, can it be gifted/transferred? Will GOG do this if asked?

You can of course try, but I would say it's higly unlikely.
Basically it work's like this - you buy a game, and get two versions. You yourself can play whichever you choose.
But another person still has to buy their own game. If you could simply gift unwanted game versions it would discourage others from buying them themselves.
And even if you would be allowed to gift it to someone, I'm sure GOG could do it only if you transferred both versions... effectively losing your own rights to the game, so still the result is similar.

Mori_Yuki: I still don't understand why, but okay.
When Wolf 2 released in Germany back then the law didn't allow showing symbols etc in videogames. So MachineGames made a censored version that includes german (censored) audio and released it here while everyone else got the uncut version. Things have changed now in Germany and showing symbols is ok now when it's not happening in a glorifying way so the uncut version is now available for everyone too. But it doesn't include german audio because MachineGames only included that in the censored version. Both versions are in everyones library to make sure every language is available for everyone.
Thanks to the both of you for answering my questions.

Since it isn't possible and I don't wish to bother support with it, the German Edition will end up collecting virtual dust in my library. :D

Berzerk2k2: ...
I was aware that games like Wolfenstein were banned in Germany for a very long time. It is difficult to understand Germanies censorship laws and what's been censored or outright banned, violence, blood turned green -> Tomb Raider III? Blue Max, River Raid, Vietcong many of which should also be available to you now?

-

@GOG team, in case you read this, maybe you could add a code for the German and/or any censored version, instead of adding both to someones library, so that at least one can be gifted to someone who can't afford it or doesn't mind getting a censored version?
