Robette: I'm actually willing to tell people Cyberpunk is worth it at this price point, unless you are in the group who still has serious performance issues. Despite all the disappointment, it's still a fun game, intriguing storyline, entertaining gunplay with decent 'casting' options and some beautiful scenery mostly.

Some issues people complain about also have really easy fixes, like driving becoming ten times better by simply changing the deadzones and sensitivity of the controller.
I dunno....it still costs too much for the level of quality. when it gets down to $10 then maybe. I will try it one day, but definitely not at a premium.

kai2: Looks like Icewind Dale II may never be on sale again.
Why do you think so? If some game has not been discounted for a long time, does not mean, that it won't be on sale anymore.

Mortius1: Black Friday Encore.

"The sale wasn't popular enough, so lets do it again. People will be sure to buy this time".

Don't laugh. GOG actually did it for the Summer Sale earlier this year.
How about a new GOG initiative...10 consecutive days of sale...one for every day of the week?
I once noticed a series of books which said on their spine that they were a trilogy...all four of them.

Icewind Dale II is consistently left out of sales.

Why?

Dunno, but... Icewind Dale was remastered and Icewind Dale II was not due to the original code being lost. So if you look at the last few years, the Icewind Dale (remaster) is consistently on sale but Icewind Dale II (original) is not.

About customer service...

Just a personal experience. I can't say anything directly post-pandemic, but pre...

... I had good experiences with customer service. During one sale the price on a game changed mid-sale. I'd planned on purchasing at sale's end, but the price change was dramatic. I contacted GOG and -- although it took 3 or 4 days after the sale had ended -- they responded and honored the original sale price. No negotiating, hassle, or dragging their feet. While this is something I would expect -- honoring an advertised sale price -- the ease at dealing with the issue was not. I appreciated that. Anyway, just my experience for the hopper.

GOG is having a pre-Black Friday sale and will probably have a Black Friday sale but will they have a Cyber Monday sale as well?

Similarly to Icewind Dale II, I don't remember Neverwinter Nights 2 on sale, and it too hasn't been remastered.
More importantly there are a lot of old games, belonging to now defunct companies (Interplay, Shiny), that never go on sale. Sacrifice, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Messiah etc.
Sure they are quite cheap anyway so it's not a big problem, but still the fact remains.

Also never seen Age of Wonder's games on sale yet (though I may be mistaken), and while the old ones are at a decent price, the new games can get expensive.

Altough I do understand the irony, the case with the books might have been (just guessing of course) that one of the books was released in 2 parts.
It's fairly common, and a single story released in 2 parts will still be considered 1 book. Harry Potter has done that - 7 parts and 6 books. In Poland we have a national "epic" that is called a "Trilogy", but was actually released as 4 movies. In book format you can also buy it as 6 seperate books.

Outsiders:
The big Black Friday sale, that might change names along the way, always at least goes through Cyber Monday and sometimes has lasted over a week (seem to be getting shorter recently, maybe a trend or maybe just because Black Friday was later). Here is the handy list of past major sales and "guess the big sale dates" thread from ciemnogrodzianin (who recently also made this list of past Black Friday sales). I'll make my guess in that thread.

It was on sale in March. Any plans to remaster IWD 2 were abandoned for good several years ago, but it was often discounted in 2020. Therefore, I assume, these facts are unrelated.

It is normal for a game to skip sales for a long time due to marketing or some other reasons. For example, Realms of Arkania series was on sale for the last time almost a year ago.

I would expect them both to be discounted again on the Winter sale in December.)

You can check price history here: ( timeframe can be adjusted under the chart )

Unfortunately no luck in what I had my eyes on for this sale. As a "Pre-Black Friday" sale, will there be an actual "Black Friday" sale, or will this one also count as the actual Black Friday sale? There's not that much time left until the winter sale, anyway.

It's 7 books, only the last movie was split.

The Lord of the Rings books are a funny case: it's published in 3 parts, but actually comprised of 6 books.

Not saying that you're wrong, but...

... I checked Ciemnogrodzianin's sale thread for March 2020 -- and found Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition -- but didn't find Icewind Dale 2 listed. Either I missed it (which could be the case) or the tracker you listed is incorrect. With that said...

I also have a price tracker notification app that hasn't alerted me of a change in GOG's Icewind Dale 2 price for years.

I would almost bet you money Icewind Dale II will not be on sale in December. ;)

Whoops, indeed my mistake. I was positive i saw the books in two parts.
With Lord of the Rings, while I don't know how it was originally published, I know you can now buy 3 books.
Anyway the point is, there are books that are essentially one book, but published in parts.

As to the sale, I myself am positive there will be a proper Black Friday sale. The reasons are as follows:
1. GOG releases weekend sales on friday. Might as well be a black one...
2 There was no mid-week sale today, which is usually the case on wednesdays, so they are probably prepping something
3. It is called a PRE Black Friday sale after all
4. Past experiences with GOG have shown that they often do this. Even this Halloween they "spooked" everyone with only a handful of dark themed games, and later that week they made a proper, big Halloween sale, also releasing Just Cause 2.

Speaking of which – thats the reason I'm anticipating, that at least one big release may happen on Friday. As to what it could be, we can only guess. But I would wager we will see at least one new, possibly big, release at the end of the week.

I wouldn´t mind one big release at the end of the week :)

Funny thing is, lots of people talk about Skyrim recently. Though I don't really care much for it (already got it for free on Steam), Skyrim did release 10 years ago in November... could be a nice anniversary occasion ;)

Edit: Just noticed a Bethesda sale suddenly, out-of-the-blue... hmmm :P
