Help us break the GOG Galaxy servers!

Our venture into GOG Galaxy started not too long ago, so far our infrastructure supports online multiplayer for Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000, Double Dragon Trilogy and of course The Witcher Adventure Game. It's been pretty smooth sailing, but there is still so much ahead of us. We want to learn everything we can about our infrastructure under a lot of stress, how much we can handle before weird stuff starts to happen. That means plenty of people doing all kinds of things at once - rolling dice, beating up baddies, killing aliens.

We're going to be hanging out in-game, and we'd like you to join us in trying to break our servers.

-We want to throw everything we can at our infrastructure. We'd like you to help us break it on Thursday, February 12 starting at 4:00 PM GMT. No worries if you're late, we'll be at it for a while. You can check your local time right here!

-Simply launch your GOG.com copy of Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000, Double Dragon Trilogy, The Witcher Adventure Game, join an existing multiplayer game or create your own, and have a good time! We'll be there too.

Once you've had a chance to play, let us know how your online experience went, and what we can do to improve it (keep in mind we're not testing the games themselves, but the online infrastructure). You can vent, praise, and anything in between, right here in this forum thread. We'll be watching!

Thank you!

I can't help but think that the GOG userbase is a horrible userbase to reflect their ingame experiences during a stresstest as a decent part of the DRM-Free crowd is here exactly because their internet isn't exactly solid to start with.

It might help if people listed how reliable their internet normally is when they post their stresstest experiences.

That said, I imagine the most important results will be visible on GOG's end anyway regardless of user experiences.

Opened Alien vs Predator Classic 2000 multiplayer an hour into the stress test, and got the error "Failed to initialize[0]."
Oh well, guess I'll have to give up with this AvP multiplayer thing :-(

It's funny, but my internet connection has normally been rock-solid for most online things, but I can't seem to manage more than a couple of minutes at a time before getting disconnected from the game.

Looks like it's back to single player for me, unfortunately...

Played AvP coop multiplayer for an hour about an hour into test, did not notice any issues.

No visible issues with GOG multiplayer app either.

Just played for around 15 minutes (not much, have stuff to do). Re-installed AvP and everything was okay, updated and initialized just fine. Game was smooth too (joined two hosts).
Would love to help with AvP testing but sadly i'm out of money maybe if you test with more games later :)
I played for about 10 minutes, first game I was booted from but the second one went smoothly. Not really my cup of tea, but I would have played more if GOG would have chosen a better time.

GOG, please consider several more stress tests at different times, where it's evening in America, where it's evening in France, etc. etc. :P
I just played AvP for about an hour. Joined 4 coop-games. I was able to connect to all of them:
- The first game was broken - the aliens weren't moving. I got kicked from the server after about a minute.
- The following 2 games went smoothly.
- In the last game the points/lives were occasionally reset although the timer of the match still had a few hours left, which was weird. I don't know if this was somehow intentional or if it was a bug. But apart from that, everything seemed to work well.

So in my experience the multiplayer worked mostly fine.
Been playing for an hour so far.

All DM games run smooth as silk.
The only problem is that Aliens don't seem to move in the co-op game. Or move in glitches. Weird.

Apart from that, no problem.

I manage to join every game in a few seconds.
I played for about 20 minutes.

I only managed to join 1 game, all other games I tried to join would send me back to desktop.

The one I managed to join though ran smoothly.

I wrote this post as soon as I stopped playing.
I think I tested the game for about 30 - 40 minutes. It was about 1 and a 1/2 games. I joined the GOG Break slot that had 8 players. It ran smoothly from what I could tell. I'm up for testing with Unreal Tournament though :)

I have the same suggestion as other people, if you really want to stress test it should be at night and on a weekend. Another suggestion is to add more popular games to the list of online co-op and multiplayer. AVP isn't that fun to play and Double Dragon and The Witcher Adventure Game don't have a lot of appeal to them.

Played TWAG for like an hour now, everything smooth as a baby's butt :)
Been playing AVP Classic 2000 for a while with no issues. It's been a while since I've tried the multiplayer and I'm really glad to see that the issues to find a game or being randomly disconnected has been fixed :D
