Just received a message from a recent trouble maker pretending to be one of legitimate users. They provided a shortened link claiming it's an interesting news about E3.

Don't click those things guys.

When I mentioned I was at work now he sent me something to get me in trouble by having it on my screen.

I guess I forgot to tell him I'm self employed. :P

I don't click short links as a rule. Used a checker site to expand that now out of curiosity, noticed the nasty-sounding domain, left it at that.

Yeah, I should have known that someone wanting to be friendly was surely a trap.

But fortunately my internet is weak, so only the first quarter of the image loaded before my refexes closed everything.

Cuz some people like that stuff.

Just as a teaching moment, for many of the shortners like bit.ly, if you stick a plus sign at the end of the URL, it'll take you to a landing page so you can see url and a screenshot of where you wind up.

For example:

http://bit.ly/1sNZMwL+
