Great news for anyone interested in video gaming's roots. I feel about as excited as I did learning about the colour copy of A Trip to the Moon.

Wander was probably the first computer game that is recognisable as what came to be known as a “text adventure” (or “interactive fiction”) – pre-dating even ADVENT (a.k.a. Colossal Cave) by Crowther and Woods!

Tennis for Two

Oh crud, you did say that! I don't know why it just didn't register when I went through your list. I'll slap myself silly now.

What is cool about it though, is that you didn't need one of those newfangled "main frames" to play it. :)

One other thing, most space games I play these days remind me very much of Tradewars 2002 back from the good old BBS days.

There was a day I would say "who would want to use a computer to play tic-tac-toe" and it ended up being one of the first games I made for HTML. :)

...and those "supercomputers" in our pockets really blows me away. They're more powerful than the indie computers of the late 70's and 80's and can even emulate the early era PCs.

OK, now the fun stuff. My company decided they wanted to make a "mobile" application. After digging into the roots a bit, I found that they actually had a DOS version of their software (well before I started working there), managed to get a .ZIP file with the DOS product, then copied it to my phone. I set up a quick profile for it on my Android versions of DOSBox and was able to run it.

I took it to my boss and said, "look, we have a mobile version already!" It was good for a few laughs. :)
