bjgamer: (roll dice)
Devin, you are correct in your assumption, your lady is not healing nor has her magic returned as it should. You will need to seek help and/or answers.
The black cat entered the open porthole and crossed the room as if he owned it before he jumped up on the bed. Like a shadow he padded softly up alongside the single occupant until he reached her hand, then pawed at it and butted the hand with his head until she gave in and petted him. Once that was sufficiently done he strode up to settle on the pillow beside her with front paws kneading her shoulder and proceeded to rub his head along her jaw while purring. Finally content, the cat settled in to keep watch.
It was close to midnight. The cat, still alert, shifted his gaze to the restless subject of his watchfulness. Her brows were furrowed, her jaw clenched. She wasn't sleeping well. Rising gracefully the cat stretched then silently jumped down. With one last look back he leaped out through the porthole.
For a moment
Devin had been worried what further might be demanded of him to get his Lady of Stars and the Ship free from the Sea of Lost Souls. Instead it was a toll the human captain would pay. They had won free, but still all was not well.
Devin gently hummed a melody and brushed his lips lightly across his lady's brow, entering her dream. (Per GM) The fact that it actually worked told him what he needed to know. It shouldn't have worked, not on a phoenix. His lady's natural defenses were down and she wasn't recovering as she should. His heart recoiled at the dark void haunting her within. She was supposed to be light, not darkness. His was the darkness. He gently withdrew from her dream, tucked her head against his shoulder and lifted her in his arms, then took her to where the moonlight streamed through the windows to shine on the floor of the Captain's Cabin. He chose the brightest beam of moonlight and sat holding her, letting the light bathe them in its radiance.
Devin raised his gaze to Her and slipped into the Old Tongue. "Goddess of Moonlight, Daughter of the Night Skies, hear me and See. She needeth healing, Lady, more than I can giveth her. She needeth to be able to draw from the Stars. I come to thee, Sehanine, bowing my head to beg of thee. I come to thy Call. I bear thy Dreams. I serve as thee desire and I learn as thee wouldst have me learn. Tell me what I must do, my goddess. Let me take her pain and I willst bear it, but do not ask of me to do nothing. That I cannot do."
Devin enters his lady's dream seeking what troubles her and prevents her recovery. He holds her while sitting in the brightest moonbeam and begs of his goddess to tell him what he needs to do to fix this. I think my Luck card should cover this if I've tested it right.
