I accidentally let my NWN code from preordering the Witcher 3 expire, and I don't want to let my current ones go to waste. I'm a little bummed that gog isn't in Spanish yet, so let's start to change that! All you have to do is say what you favorite word in Spanish is and why (try to keep it clean!).

Mine is sacapuntas (pencil sharpener). I was once talking to a friend's dad who is a native speaker, and he wanted me to say something to him in Spanish. I remembered sacapuntas from grade school, and once I said it he just burst out laughing.

Anyway, here is what's up for grabs:
Sim City 2000
STALKER Clear Sky
The Witcher
The Witcher 2

State what game you're in for, your Spanish word and reason, and I'll pick winners (I want to gift all 4!) on the 19th based on my favorite answers.

I was hunting for good rules to borrow, and I liked helpo1's set. All credit goes to him for this modified version:
- reputation of 30+
- registration date of April 2014 or prior
- no scammers
- no entering for others
- no trading or regifting; please, only enter if you want to play the game
- deadline to enter is 4pm GMT on July 19th, 2015
- winners have to redeem the game within 24 hours after announcing the results on the 19th (some of the games expire on the 21st)

Oops read the rules I don't meet the requirements. Plus 1 from me for the giveaway though. I will keep what I wrote in hopes it gets some laughs:

And Grande. I don't know Spanish really, but one of my online friends is from Puerto Rico with his native tongue being Spanish, and we like to troll each other. So I do things like when we play Space Station 13, I name his cyborg when I borg him ' Mucho Grande Taco Sauce'. (In the game you can turn people into cyborgs, the person who does the borging can give them a robo name. I name him things like that)

Fate works in mysterious way...

Few days back there was a Star Wars giveaway in which I was 20+ rep short.
I didn't get disappointed and continued to participate in the forum.
Few people upvoted me and few people marked my post as solved and at the end of second day I meet the requirement.
Although I never won that giveaway but still it was the fastest rep I ever earned.

+1 to you too
Not in but Thank you for this initiative. As I am a native Spanish speaker, I will try to share you a word that is quite useful for different situations: Madre (Mother). It can be used, for example, to express joy like in "¡A toda madre!" (Oh YES!!!) or to show negativity: "Me fue de madres" (I had a terrible day). Versatility but watching out the context is key on its usage. 0:)

I'm shocked gog.com isn't in Spanish yet! I actually own all the games up for grabs, so I can't play - but I will give you my favorite Spanish word: cariño

It's elegant and its meaning is complex and it is fun to say! :)
Not in, since I have all of them; but since no one else has stepped up yet, I might as well play anyway.

I've been relearning Spanish online (to offer better customer service at work) and off the top of my head, my favorite word is un trabalenguas, which means a tongue-twister. A rather well-known one is:

Tres tristes tigres comen trigo en un trigal. (Three sad tigers eat wheat in a wheat field.)

There's also una guagua; depending on which country you're in, it either means a baby (which kind of makes sense) or a bus (which makes no sense whatsoever). In fact, native speakers ought to appreciate the following somewhat risqué pun:

Si tú ves un bicho en la guagua, ¡no lo toca!

It's supposed that the bus meaning for guagua takes its origins in Cuba and derived from the English word "wagon". In fact, phonetically they're quite similar.
Not in, but thanks. I have no favourite word, but wen I was a child I was amazed with esternocleidomastoideo (sternocleidomastoid), because it's an exceptionally long word.

I've never heard that word before, but it's good to know new ones. :P Also take in mind that it isn't something strange since Spanish is an official language in 21 countries, and there are a lot of differences in vocabulary among regional varieties.

I searched guagua, and I found this: http://buscon.rae.es/drae/srv/search?val=guagua

So a guagua is known in other countries as cochinilla algodonosa, or citrus mealybug in English.
Well, not in and for me it's two words, "nuestros hermanos", it's a kind way that we portuguese call the spanish since they're our neighbours (and the relashionship between the two countries).
I'm in for STALKER Clear Sky,thank you & +1! :D

as for your question.. since I read the topic i keep repeating in my head the word sacapuntas
so i guess that's it.. :P
not in, thanks for ur generosity +1

it should be nice have a spanish forum but I like this one (english) so much. Talk with people over the whole world and share videogame experiences with them is awesome.

I don't have any favourite spanish word but I'm going to use this oportunity to share our culture: Mate(Yerba mate) a common diuretic drink that we share in meetings with friends everyday, everytime.
