As if the newly released Antitribu mod had not been enough. Now, the people who got a cease and desist order for the would be, fan made remake of Bloodlines in another engine, formed a new team, with the sole purpose of creating something big, under another name, containing vampires, werewolves, mages and changlings (shapeshifters)! Hopefully, we are going to have more news, soon!

It will not be soon enough, let me tell you that.
They should go to kickstarter with it if they have to. I'd certainly pay full price for a game that successfully created a bloodline experience.
There was another group that was going to do the same thing. They tried to Kickstart a remake of Bloodlines then (after lawyers got in touch haha) they decided to make a original game heavily based on Bloodlines, in MMORPG form. The last I saw of that project was about two years ago, they had produced an hour long intro and interview showing gameplay footage and talking of their overall goals. Unfortunately pretty much everything related to that project seems to have been wiped from the web, surely somebody else knows what I'm talking about?

i dont think iv heard of that one. Though it sounds like their first mistake was trying to make it an MMO. Creating a great bloodlines-like game is hard enough and should be the focus... creating a great MMO infrastructure is another world.

I missed that comment. Whoever it was that got the brilliant idea that the way to make bloodlines fans happy was to make an MMORPG deserves to get fired ASAP, together with whoever hatched the idea for Nosgoth.

Yeah haha. Sad thing was, it looked like it had a lot of potential. You were going to start the game as a human and you could be sired or become a vampire hunter, it had multiple vampire clans, a nice looking city (reminiscent of Bloodline's version of L.A.), the ability to earn/buy havens as well (if I remember correctly). Like I said it was HEAVILY inspired by and based on Bloodlines (and Vampire The Masquerade in general). I guess I'll spend some time this weekend playing around in the Archive's Way Back Machine to try and find some hard info on it.

Alright, I've got all my ducks in a row.

The remake project I mentioned was actually a new game based on Bloodlines named Requiem of the Night, by Stephen Webb. You can find it on Kickstarter, Youtube (such as a video by "FrozenFoxy") and other places. It wasn't a direct remake of Bloodlines but was set in the Old World of Darkness and used character models and lore from Bloodlines. In a Youtube video by "FrozenFoxy" you can see the Bloodline's character Andrei being controlled by the player. It was to use the Unity engine. It was of course shut down.

After that project was shut down it was rechristened Sanguine Nights: Darkest Blood. This is the original project I mentioned earlier. Basically it was Requiem of the Night but with an "original" (HEAVILY based on the Old World of Darkness) universe. It was set to be a multiplayer game with a possible single player mode. Made by Stephen Webb and Team Ravenous. It was set to use the Unity engine. Project seems completely abandoned.

Later on Project Vaulderie was started, again by Stephen Webb, it was set to port Bloodlines to Unity. That project has since been shut down. It seems like it was previously named Bloodlines Resurgence but I can't find a direct link (not that I've tried especially hard).

In other words, I've apparently been following this project (under its different names) for about two years now. Huh. Anyway, don't get your hopes up folks, it'd be nice to have but uh...I've just detailed it's history, make of that what you will.
Thanks for the heads up!

Hope is the last thing lost, and I haven't comletely lost yet.

But I'll try to not look much into it, wouldn't want to get excited. I much rather get blindsided by it in 3 years and have a blast.

I hope they keep that radio program, "the deb of night". It was hilarious.
