According to , an Australian court has found Valve guilty of breaching Australian consumer law, despite the fact that Valve doesn't "officially" do business in the country. I can't help but see parallels to GOG and their issues with German law. [url=http://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/federal-court-finds-valve-made-misleading-representations-about-consumer-guarantees]ACCC press release.

I hope Valve never does business "officially" in Aus, because all it would mean is more taxes and higher prices.

We already pay inflated prices (in USD) with currency conversion thrown on top... it couldn't really get any worse... if anything they may bring in AUD and prices at least on par with EB games (and preferably JB Hifi) if they did...
