SCPM: GOG started following Xbox on Twitter and they are playfully tweeting to each other. Obviously this can only mean that Microsoft is buying GOG. :P

Ueber: The Xbox-controller shown in the tweet has a similar if not the same colour as the GOG-Galaxy colour-palette.
That's what I saw too. A few years ago Phil said something like Xbox Studios / M$ didn't have time to let GOG do re-releases of old Microsoft games. Maybe GOG finally saved up enough to buy time with the M$ lawyers. :P

Naturally we should never get our hopes up, but GOG's 15th anniversary will be this Aug (or Sept?), so a BIG release around then would be appropriate. Skyrim would certainly have been appropriate, but with that here, since we're talking Microsoft, maybe GOG was able to secure Freelancer or (less likely unless GOG got EA and Microsoft to work together, maybe after the Noclip documentary) Black & White (ideally both B&W 1 and 2 and all the expansions). Dunno if the Bethesda "connection" comes into play; a smattering of more Bethesda releases around that time (Fallout 4, Doom 2016 + Eternal, missing older titles like Rage) would certainly be great and financially good for GOG (and I for sure want to be able to buy Doom 3 here), but wouldn't have the punch (nor make the digital headlines) of something like Freelancer or B&W.

(Some people seem to get upset when I even suggest the possibility of stuff like this; again, we shouldn't get our hopes up, but I enjoy occasional speculation and personally I can handle the disappointment :P)

mechmouse: A few months after SEGA acknowledged the existence of GOG via Twitter we saw Satan don Ice-skates and deliver us a bunch of SEGA games.

Here's hoping history repeats.

Might help if some goglodytes engaged too
I wouldn't say a "bunch" but yes, couldn't hurt to help encourage on Twitter.

But why does Opera GX reply "okay pirate" to the GOG's tweet? I find no possible positive meaning in it, other than the usual GOG=pirate stereotype.

They tried to weasel out saying its because of the 1 eye emoji

At least they didn't double down on the dumb like the person that claimed TPB was full of GOG games. When I disproved his statement in a similar way he replied "It only works if you search for GOG"!!!

Lol, well done XD
Microsoft had both MechCommander Gold and MechCommander 2 as free downloads on their official download site for a while a few years ago, would gladly pay a reasonable sum for a DRM-free and fixed-up re-release on GOG.

Looks like it was just about the controller unfortunately. Oh well, that's why we don't get our hopes up. :)

Just had a "hopeful" interaction with the Paleo Pines dev on Mastodon, they've also moved to Modus as a publisher, so fingers crossed, because this looks super cute

Atari has picked up a butt-ton of old games and is reportedly planning to give some of them digital re-releases. Everyone's having a laugh at them acquiring Bubsy but apparently there are PC titles in there, too, and it's not out of the question the console games might see PC release if we're optimistic.

The newest Rusty Lake game, Underground Blossom, has been announced. No GOG badge in the trailer.
Elin:
GOG is a good platform but keeping up with multiple sites is something we would like to avoid. Maybe after full release.

"What are the chances of this also releasing on GOG, even if at a later time?

Tbd on other platforms - but, if enough players demand it then it would obviously be something we would explore further."
