Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore A Fedora
Reason: Devotion related
Earlier today, it was assumed that the game SkateBIRD was coming to @GOGcom. After receiving one message from them that undercut a fellow indie dev, we have decided not to list our game in their store.

You might see we have another game on there now. I've sent an email to start the process of them removing it. I wouldn't advise buying it during the sale as a result, since no idea how they handle that.

Hot Tin Roof: The Cat That Wore A Fedora is their only game on GOG.

Actions have consequences. Good job, GOG. May you eat crow for many days to come.

I can appreciate that the chick is at least honest enough to admit that they made very few sales here and that this is a symbolic gesture more than anything else (unlike those "Gamers"-"movies" cucks that acted like they were brave, selfless heroes for having their stuff delisted over Linko's tweets).

Following that logic, shouldn't they remove their games from Steam as well? According to the articles in the Devotion discussion thread, after being review-bombed by Chinese users, Steam banned Devotion in China, it was eventually taken down, and has not come back.

Not that I don't appreciate their concern for Chinese censorship. But it looks like a PR/marketing stunt.

Devotion was removed from Steam by the developers:

Due to technical issues that cause unexpected crashes and among other reasons, we are pulling <Devotion> off from steam store to have another complete QA check. At the same time we'd like to take this opportunity to ease the heightened pressure in our community resulted from our previous Art Material Incident, our team would also review our game material once again making sure no other unintended materials was inserted in. Hopefully this would help all audience to focus on the game itself again upon its return.

So now that they've completed that QA check to decide to release on GOG, should we expect it to come back to Steam?

Might become a pretty ugly situation...I mean uglier.
I sure as shit don't want to sit on half-baked versions of different games. :P

But aside from that, please pass the popcorn. :D

And why this developer didn't remove his games from steam, since the game was removed from there too

Okay...but I think it's naive of anyone to act as though Scheme wouldn't have pulled it anyway if "gamers requested it" like with GOG.

What if scenarios won't save GOG any face.

Sure...but if developers/customers/whoever is fleeing to Scheme and acting as though it is some shining moral beacon that would have done things differently in the end, they're likely to be disappointed. Corporations are not anyone's friends and they are likely to do whatever they want to not offend people or, perhaps in this case, not offend a desired place of business.
Seems Red Candle understand it wasn't "gamers" that did this but GOG's decision. I'm glad they at least understand that much.
