https://www.dualshockers.com/three-utawarerumono-games-are-coming-to-pc-in-2020/

The Utawarerumono games, visual novels mixed with turn-based tactical RPG battles are coming to PC. The original was released for PC in Japan in 2002 and never saw a Western release but did have a fan-translation. The other two titles were console only until now. Anyone else who would like to see the games here, feel free to vote for the games on the wishlist:

Urgh... why do so many SRPGs get hidden behind Visual Novels?
I played Hyperdevotion Noire, great gameplay, but everytime the story part happened, something died inside of me.
I hope they show up for fans! (assuming it's not like there's not much at stake for GOG for bringing them (lost revenue/time) :P.)

And dang that's not too far away. Maybe GOG can make a quick deal for them to arrive on release day, or otherwise at a discount in a few months.

This is a vn series first of all though.
I have the DVD's of this series and heard of some games based on the VN but damn! Gonna look more into this
Bumping for any other folks interested. The games have been climbing the community wishlist nicely, here's hoping Aquaplus and Shira VN are open to bringing them to GOG.

Aquaplus has a reputation to favor DRM greatly... I wish they come here, would be a day one purchase for sure.
I mean... I'd buy 'em. I like visual novels and SRPGs.

I've heard good things about the series, but I haven't really looked into it too much.

I posted about your thread on the GOG subreddit, you might post it on other appropriate subreddits.

Definately interested and voted. A friend of mine has praised this series over the years.
I strongly suspect it will be the "all age" console version and not the original "adult" version :)
Another instabuy if they release here! Been wanting to see what all the noise is about with the two Mask sequels, and the original's remake intrigues me, even if it is self-censorship.

Correct, it's an all-ages remake of the original, called "Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen"

The other two - "Mask of Deception" and "Mask of Truth" - were all-ages to begin with, just in case you didn't know.

Unfortunately, the publisher has said on Discord that there are no plans to bring the games to GOG at this time. They haven't specified if it's because they are unwilling or unable. In any case, feel free to keep voting or send messages of support and maybe by the time Prelude of the Fallen releases, it will be a different story.
I'll take all the SRPG's I can get. It's like the genre disappeared into the mobile phone genre or something for a while.

Hope NIS ports Stella Glow to PC at some point in the future. That game deserved far more attention than it got :(
was browsing /v/ and found this thread on it. viewer desecration advised.
