So it's happening, anyone else following this? Trump's becoming president of the USA today. It's been a while since I've felt I've seen a historic event happen live and given what an embarrassment this whole thing appears to be to Democracy and the US it feels this is going to be one of those days again.

Haha, apparently the pranking is some kind of tradition. I wonder if Obama did anything. Clinton apparently removed all the W's from all the keyboards in the white house when he passed it on to George W Bush.

The end.

Why do Trump's kids all look like they have mild Down Syndrome?

They all have really weird noses and big gaps between their eyes.

Blah blah blah end of the world blah blah worse than Hitler blah great again blah a wall something something dark side something something complete.

I just can't wait for both sides to realise in a couple of years that they are neither living in a nightmarish dystopia, nor was anything made great again, and all this hyperbole and histrionics were just plain idiotic.
No. Just another Friday, but with roadblocks.

True, but even if little happens it's still going to be a serious embarrassment *this* guy got elected president after all the things he's said, lied about, has done and not done.

The guy openly admitted to sexual assault, he should be going to prison instead of becoming president.

He never bothered to release his tax returns despite claiming he would. People can't even get a job in banking without doing that but the POTUS can just ignore it? Yes he can, he's not legally required, but it's sad he doesn't anyway.

He continuously lies to people about what happened even after being made aware of things. Things that are often quickly discovered to be false. Heck, he had only two foreign political encounters during his campaign if I'm not mistaken and both times when he came back he lied about what happened during them to the American people, only to get corrected by those leaders through social media.

Trumps policies are basically the polar opposite of a NWO situation. The fact that foreign press is already calling his policies 'protectionist' show just how out of step Trump is with the populist globalist agendas. You want to make memes about NWO leaders - show Canadas Trudeau , or Germanys Merkel.

It would also have been embarrassing if Clinton had got elected, would have confirmed a worrying trend towards political dynasties (like the Bushes) that's typical of countries like Argentina, with all their corruption and nepotism.
But Trump certainly comes across as pretty vulgar, and having never held political office he's unqualified to be president like no previous president was.
Will be interesting to see how the next four years turn out. I just hope relations with Russia don't get even worse, and hopefully Trump won't start a war with Iran or something of the sort (he's got some people around him like his national security adviser Flynn who seem to think this would be a great idea).

This is the bit I don't get... if I understand rightly Clinton was impeached for having an affair and lying about it while President... so how can Trump possibly be allowed to become president when he has already been shown to have lied and cheated in a whole host of areas...

On top of that... he's going on about being for the people, he's a fricking billionaire. He's not one of the people. He's not anti-establishment. Ok, he's not a politician, he's businessman, and quite frankly that's not much better in most cases.

I doubt it will be the end of the world, these things rarely have such effect, but I doubt his term of office will be beneficial for most Americans.

Not just that, I think he's dangerously ignorant. Refusing daily security briefings because he's such a smart guy, he doesn't need to be told the same thing again and again. Claiming he gets his military advice from TV shows. Sits up at 2am haranguing former beauty contest winners on Twitter. Brilliant.

Before I get as far away from this thread as possible :P, I should mention that I live in the middle of nowhere and even here you can see the rumblings of protest.

Whenever a new administration takes over there is always some praise, some jeering, and a lot of the crap Breja mentioned, but I honestly don't remember an inauguration day being this turbulent.

There are Anti-Inaugurations going on coast to coast, countless sit-ins, demonstrations, and they are even taking to the streets (peacefully) a short step south of where I live.

A lot of hype? Who knows. I just wanted to mention it before I get out of here and try not to think about it for the rest of the day.....errrrr four years. :P

I'll be around if anyone wants to talk NFL Playoffs or gaming.
