Yes, if it helps, I get the same crash when trying to play URU - I am also using Windows 10.

The launcher launches OK, but when you try and hit "Play" it crashes, with the error shown above. Also tried setting as admin, and running in every possible compatibilty mode from XP to Windows 8 without success.

U may 1 2 write this in the Uru subforum as well as inform support abt this issue so they can work on it.
I'm running Uru in 10 just fine.

Edit: Never bothered with Fullscreen.

Update: I'm running a clean 64 bit Windows and, yep still works in Windowed.

I also got the same error...

Running in Windowed Mode worked for me...

But I then went back to windows 8.1 just for this reason as I love me some MYST games.
Yes, running in windowed mode and it works fine, but not quite the same game experience, at least for me.

I did shoot off an email to gog support. Hopefully it can be resolved.

[Edit - update] - I got a reply from gog support saying they were unable to get this game to work on Windows 10, so it is not supported on Windows 10 at all. I am concerned how many other gog games I have that will also not work on Windows 10?

Oh well. The only way to play it (which is disappointing) is in Windowed mode.

I've reverted back and forth from 8.1 to 10 to see if this problem was ever fixed and finally...success!

All I had to do was NOT SELECT "Full Scene Anti-Aliasing" in URU Setup...
After that no other compatibility settings needed changed.

Now this does leave the game looking rather jagged. So if you are able to, you can force anti-aliasing through your graphics drivers.

Wow, awesome Renyaloth! I can confirm your fix does indeed work, thank you very much! Now, with AA settings off in the URU menu, the game can be played full screen, no issues.

My hat is off to you my friend, you are a legend! Thanks for finding this fix for us :)
I have fixed the probems on my friends PC (anti aliasing and windowed mode) with help of a realy great Software.
The graphics Driver does't allow override of AA.

Google for "Borderless Gaming" - Install - Run Borderless Gaming (BG) - start Uru with AA on and Fullscreen off - Alt+Tab Switch to BG - in BG bring Uru to the right side

= Fullscreen even in 16:9, only Problem is the stretched graphics ;)

Hope this Helps someone
