i really dont have the time and nerve to check the "What got updated" topic when i check my library every 1-2 times in a months and scroll all pages through to find what got updated. isnt it possible to mark a new file as new or small info in your library? really?

You don't have the nerve to check...? O.o Sadly, GOG doesn't care about your problem. They've broken all functionality that used to work and they are probably laughing at us when we complain about how some parts of their site actually used to function before they 'fixed' that. The realities of the market means that as long as purchasing games work, GOG doesn't care. They're too busy tinkering with Galaxy to notice.

I find that to be a bit of a bold assumption, but then again, I'm not in the loop about the goings-on at the GOG headquarters.

Anyway, on topic, there is a wishlist entry for adding a change log to such updates. Of course, this entry is over two years old so maybe, in this case, they actually do not care all that much or simply don't see it as a priority.
I do agree it would be quite the handy feature, though.

Take a look around the forums, particulatly 'what has been updated' and the 'unbundling' threads. I would recommend mrkgnao's posts in particular as they highlight just what GOG isn't doing and a community member is. If you were to follow the debate around here, you would see that GOG staffers, with Judas being the notable exception, just vanish from discussions where they have promised a follow-up and response to some query. This place has changed massively in just a year's time.

Ah well, I do tend to be a bit naive when it comes to "people" I like. I lurk around the forums quite a bit so I'm partially aware of what users don't like and GOG staff don't address so I understand where you're coming from. Maybe I just like to believe that they don't not care at all.
At the same time I'm not entirely happy with the changes that have happened recently either but this is still my preferred online distribution service.

I'm just disappointed because I got my hopes up. I lurked about for maybe a year or so before I made an account and it seemed like here was an actual shop with ideals. I guess the moral of this story is for me not to get emotionally invested, but I've really enjoyed the community here and now it feels like that too is changing... slower than the storefront, but I can feel that it's only a matter of time before I stop coming here entirely. That makes me sad. That, and the fact that I don't really have an alternative for a retailer. C'est la vie.
Judas does post an update on each game's sub-forum with the changes, but yeah that's not really a great excuse for the update system as it currently is.

JaqFrost: ....
Hm yes, things change, people change and life is a bitch. It is indeed sad to see something you like change into something you don't (quite) like but personally, I've decided to stick around and see where it all goes. To my mind, GOG is still better than a lot of the alternatives and, while I the community may be changing a bit as well, I still enjoy it, even though I don't actively participate as much as, well, most of the community. ;p
Maybe you'll decide to wait around and everything turns out to be not as bad. As many have pointed out, GOG is a business and they have to make do somehow.
1000 games and still no proper changelog feature...
low rated
i would love to read an official reply. i dont like it when critical topics are OFFICIALLY ignored... and to fanboys, i hope some day naivity hurts so you might have a chance to care a bit more for others.
