Awesome, thanks a lot Stuff! This thread is great, and I'll just add my voice as to say I don't understand why GOG doesn't make these covers "official". But thank you all for this great effort. Cheers.
You guys should do this one also. ;)
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't get the point of these images. Are people making individual DVDs for all their games and printing covers for them as well?

From the first post of this thread: "Hello. Since users are complaining about lack of DVD covers for games bought on GOG.com, I decided to create some."

Yes, I read that, and still don't get it. I guess it just seems odd to me since I store all the games on a HD which is simple and easy. No DVDs, no cases, no fuss. I guess I'm just surprised so many people are "fancy" enough to go through all that.

Thanks but lets hope GOG never recognizes, links or does anything that would take away the flimsy fan art status of these covers. As a for profit corporation their acknowledgement . . say a link to the cover on the game card . . would / could be interpreted as using the cover(s) to generate sales or profit. I would stop making them as that is a legal can-of-worms I prefer not to open for myself.

Most folks, myself included, think of these covers as an "extra" that displays the original game box cover art. Those inclined can also print them out if they want to. Just ignore the covers if you have no use for them.

Why not? People like physical collectibles. Since this is a site mostly for old games that used to have fantastic boxes, it seems weird that GOG.com provides many extras but not a cover. But even if you take things digitally, you could add a cover to each of your game's folders to make them look fabulous. Remember, not all games sold here come with wallpapers. ;)

What I liked on the physical side were the widgets that came with the games. I still remember the cloth maps and little metal ankh and coin in the ultima boxes; never had much use for the boxes themselves.

As for making game folders fabulous, that's something I could get behind. But you can already use the ICO files, or even the EXE itself for that.

As good as it is, an icon is not a cover and covers are very important; They, usually, are the very first thing you see from a game. Would Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Super Mario Bros 3, Tetris, Ultima VII and many other games be the same without their awesome covers? I don't think so, hence why many people demand them.

BranjoHello: You guys should do this one also. ;)
There are two "collection" covers in the Old Cover List which were made by Blue Toxic early on. I don't have access to the old GOG Fallout game cards so I have borrowed Blue Toxic's back cover. If the games reappear on GOG I will update the back to the new game cards.

Until then . . .

If you're looking for the old covers the GOG Wiki has the official ones as some sneaksy people figured out how to snag the images :)

Actually, the covers shots I have. It's the acurate game info, OS compatibility, Developer and Publisher info that I needed to make a new set of covers. Course we don't have the Fallout games so . . .

I created these for the request and because I had not done any for the Fallout Collection. Thanks for the info =)

The GOG Wiki should have all that for the Fallouts and as far as any other info goes, just ask me :)
Love these covers, I never thought of burning my installers to disc, but I might now.
