I uploaded a collection of old DVD covers; but I'm pondering, if I should provide them individually as well as integrating the updates here that still crop here up.

@RenKaran, @jimrh69, @mobeeuz, @bigfatrock, @nosyft and all other dvd cover creators:

Is it ok for you to collect them and make a share where people can sift through them?

Hi,
the queue is being created on an ongoing basis. I collect covers shared on this forum and upload them to OneDrive, so if you want to add something of your own and there's a lot of it, let's get in touch on a private channel and figure out how to do it. If there are only a few items, post links to them on this forum, and I'll download them and put them in the repo.

For those of you in here making covers, what programs are you using? I have no experience at all with this kind of thing but if I was interested in attempting to make some covers myself, is there any advice on how to get started? Like what programs or how to set up my own templates for things like overall size of the cover for a standard DVD or Blu-Ray case and the size of the spine section and the front and back sections and where one ends and the other begins?

Edit: I read some of the previous posts and saw GIMP mentioned. I downloaded that. I'm still looking through the onedrive covers for the empty templates.

you can also use libre office draw or paint 3d if you are mentally ill like me

Hey, I don't make many covers, but when I do, I use GIMP and Corel PaintShop. I'm also planning to try Affinity since it's free, but I don't have the time right now.
Nevertheless, GIMP and Corel PaintShop.

For anyone who can't get to grips with GIMP, I can recommend paint.NET. It's very simple, but you do need to download a few plug-ins for more complex functions.

Sat down and did my first attempt on a game cover, made in GIMP.

I used a template from Mobeeuz then added a quick purple border to the top to give a easy to spot visual.

This is still a first version so any suggestions would be appreciated, I'll admit the alignment may be off on the back and the one image I had to slightly offset due to the size.

Again this is more for feedback than usage at this time.

Original version was 10MB so this is a lower quality version. Any suggestions on sharing better quality would be great.
