Now that Galaxy has confirmed that achievements are coming, I have a fun little game in mind for triumphs of failure. No, not simple things like losing all your lives or game overs. That'd be silly. Here, I'll give you an example.

FTL - Advanced Edition

Lies and Statistics!: Miss an entire volley fired at once. (All four weapons miss when fired simultaneously as one volley, something incredibly unlikely and facepalm worthy.)

Here's another.

Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe

Them's the brakes.: Lose a coaster to the Station Brake Failure when it is the only one in use. (In this case, you'd have to lose a roller coaster when there's only one train, meaning that it'd have to be a derail (Bobsled, for example) or go flying off an open track.)

Like in Risk of Rain.
Die 50 times

Do explain, is it significantly hard to die?

No it's actually pretty easy.

Master of Orion 3: somehow manage to lose the game by using only "End Turn".

I have another very difficult to achieve Achievement:

Achievement: Finish the game without achieving any Achievement.

:)

That'd be a tough one in today's culture, seeing as some games even give them to you for glancing in their general direction.

I'd be very pissed if after managing to pull this one off I'd get it cancelled because this achievement counts itself as an achievement too.

Deus Ex has several perfect excuses for shameful achievements, like “Wrong Door Buddy” for entering the ladies restroom at UNATCO, or “It Wasn’t Me” for killing the trooper that goes to aid you in the end of the Liberty Island level.

Harvester could also provide several humorous (if nasty) achievements, like “Defcon 1” for inadvertently triggering a nuclear war, or “Shame On You” for spying on Stephanie through the glory hole.

And we can’t let Geralt go without one, can we? Like a “Cold-hearted” achievement in The Witcher, for sleeping with Abigail and then letting the villagers burn her. Actually, I’m pretty sure that has happened to me. I have also got the actual “Astronomically Low Odds” achievement in FTL - failing to evade 5 shots in a row with fully powered and fully upgraded engine. I got no luck it seems…
