I'm rather Annoyed with this!

Well said....not everyone has the same budget for entertainment. That is one of the reasons, btw, that I somewhat "worry" when remasters/remakes come to GOG...as the prices are usually 2-3x the original price(which makes it harder for those less well off to buy them).

As to number 1: that sucks to hear(I am also sometimes on a budget, though not that small a budget)

Btw, I'm curious: If you could have one of the three games that are soon to be delisted, which would it be? ;)

Anyways: I find it funny that you seem to find it such a stretch that partners like EA might have such influence with GOG re: delistings.....especially as the more major GOG partners have it with near everything else(sale discounts/times, prices, store page text & media, etc).

(edit)Just remembered: iirc a staffer once said/implied on a prior delisting (when asked why they didn't make the announcements more visible/etc) that they can only announce delistings via such threads. If one wanted to, they could likely look back at the older delisting threads and find said post.

As an aside, something to remember is there are lots of free games, even DRM-free ones on places like itch.io.

I, for one, would be glad if they would post a news post about this, I also would not know audit this unless some other user mentioned it in other thread which I was reading at the time.

Definitely wouldn´t hurt to be more transparent about this. Not all of us go to forum everyday, and this removal is quite on a short notice.

And I stand by what I wrote to you back then - you were the one who didn´t bother answering, so why do you bring it now?

For me it was similar - my friend on steam told me about it after he read it somewhere (I dunno where, he doesn't use gog at all, despite I keep telling him about good deals and giveaways here). He just mentioned it to me because as he knows I like my old games and use gog... A bit ironic in a way that I as a gog-er haven't seen it myself, though in all honesty I rarely check other than game-specific subforums as general one is chock full of some forum roleplays and pretend games and theorycrafting stuff I can't relate too well with, nor care much about.
Stickying the post made it more visible to those who use general tab at least which is a lot better than nothing, though there's room for improvement like said email/newsletter mention (gog is pushing them out during sales and getting more users subbed via giveaways anyway), mention on the front page/news section, etc.

Maybe any mention of delisting on a platform is seen as a bad look by marketing or pr department, so they don't advertise any game's impending digital doom. I would understand that, but I'm sure that users are not only interested in arrivals here, but also departures, no matter how much it sucks to see.

I found it quite a stretch, because I have trouble imagining with a straight face how EA whispers to GoG's ear: "You can disclose this delisting, but only a little! Obfuscate - do your worst.". Well whatever, it totally worked on me still. I'm a living proof since it flew right under my radar - kudos to ppl who took a whiff of this deal.

It just seemed(with some of the wording) that you were possibly having a joke at my expense over what I said. If I was wrong, then I of course apologize.

Well, they (big partners like EA) likely either set all this sort of stuff set up in their negotiations(when becoming partners and etc) or via email....so likely no need for such sneaky corporate missives slyly whispered in some over the top fashion in GOG's direction. ;)

Yeah, it is a nice deal(well minus the games likely being more or less "frozen in carbonite" and locked away in Jabba the EA's corporate palace afterwards, anyways).

Unless you joined this site last week, if you do not have those games yet, you obviously don't want to have them.

+1. I picked them up at the first good sale opportunity after joining in January, these are all-time historic classics and Bullfrog was a phenomenal developer back in the day.
