How do I show my snapshot for the avatar?
Obviously I found out.

nightcraw1er.488: Therefore I have to conclude that videos do NOT play in Two Worlds under Windows 10 64bit.
avatar
Keith_I2: Yep, W10 64 bit is the culprit.
See my previous post. I have Windows 10 x64 and intros/cutscenes work fine. Conclusion: that's not the culprit!

In an attempt to divert an argument here, what do you propose is the problem and solution? I state above, I have tried both exes, with all the various compatability settgings. Have tried Windows media player, and associations. And tried Windows 9 codec. Have even uninstalled VLC. Still nothing makes the videos run whilst in game. Do please also bear in mind that I have vitrually nothing installed, calibre, game collector, musicbee, digicam, freefilesync and blender. Nothing else, just plain windows 10 pro 64 bit, version 1903.
To note, the first cutscene is just after character creation, this does not trigger, it just dumps your character straight to the temple. Also note the videos play fine in Windows Media Player, VLC, or Potplayer, just not InGame.

So you're using version 1803. Not a week ago I was using version 1773 with no in-game videos. It's mighty strange that one random version is mysteriously showing the videos while playing. Mighty peculiar indeed!

How about disabling those lizard brains for a while (I've not posted my 'success' to gloat about it) and accept useful information when you see it.
Two Worlds cinematics DID work for me on Windows 10 x64 v1809. I've just updated to v1909 and they don't work anymore. There's that.

Keith_I2: This is a situation where Absolute proof can't be shown.
Bullshit! If it works on ONE installation with Windows 10 x64 it means that:
- Windows 10 isn't the problem
- x64 isn't the problem

My best guess is that some change between 1809 and 1909 is A cause. There might be others (that would explain why it doesn't work on your 1703). I hope GOG reads this topic and does some effort to resolve this "mystery".

I have a ticket with support #507957 in which I mentioned this thread several times, stating others had the issue and they should look at it. Unfortunately I don’t have time to follow up, so if someone feels like taking the reins.

I've just submitted a support request too. I don't know about 'taking the reins', but I'll do my best to push support to its limits. ;-)
Edit: it was v1803, not v1809.

It has to be a KB that installed 3rd party codecs that is the problem.

It's making calls to MCE launcher

and '-MediaCenter',0

WE need dotnetfx3.5_SP1

MCE Launcher was discontinued in windows 10 pro 64bit

will someone try KODI or PLEX if that doesn't work

try These forums

It works now!
I converted a video from vc1 to wmv2 codec. I'll do all of them and share them somewhere (Google drive? Does someone have a better idea?)

Edit:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KCXKM4QFbfCBdYu-dsRzHaZdhdpugCTQ/view?usp=sharing
Just replace the files in the Two Worlds/Video folder with the ones in the zip file.

I should make a topic about it in the Two Worlds subforum... later.

Great job. Did you let the GOG team know, they mentioned they were going back to the dev about it.

Thanks! I updated my ticket.

I wonder how many old games have the same issue (but nobody tried it recently, or posted about it online)...

Edit:
I found this:
https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=34498
It says that GOG already solved this issue for the/a Linux version... weird.

Great. I checked it works! Yes, I would imagine its hard for GOG to track each update M$ breaks, and its very easy to miss if your not expecting a cutscene to notice.
Anyways, thanks for fixing.

Teceem Ask gog to incorporate this into the installs!

Also how did you know they were in the VC1 format originally, Gog really should have fixed this themselves if it was such and easy fix.

A program called Vidcoder reported the codex. There are others... I guess this is the most known one: https://www.headbands.com/gspot/
