Gede: I see. Something like True Detective? I have seen only the first season, but it seems like that story ended and they did something very different (and not as good) with season two.
I don't watch much TV, so I don't know how common this is.
Yes, it's similar. It's loosely connected to the first season, but it's something completely different. Less mystery and a lot more soap and (teenage) love stories.

Epitaph666: Now season 3 on the other hand... It might have some more uhhhm.... let me use the word "calm" times, but everything feels connected to the MYSTERY and doesn't have random bullshit (love stories that no one cares about) like Season 2.

My 2 cents after watching the 4 episodes.
It seems we're off for a great season ladies and gentlemen!
I like the mystery parts the most in the original series.. BUT it was always soap opera mixed with mystery and crime drama, so it wouldn't be so interesting and unique if it was only cops & FBI solving murder mystery IMO.

I like the season 3 so far, it's promising. I suspect we're getting more and more Twin Peaks (the town and it's people) as we progress more into the series. It's built more like a movie (Lynch said he views it more as a 18-hour movie rather than a series) so that explains why at the beginning we're introduced to so many new characters and places. They somehow connect to Twin Peaks / lodges / etc in the end.
Just watched the first episode of Season 3..... Please tell me Madeline Zima's character is not dead already?!!! No!!!!!!!
So, i thought this new season was EPIC!
What do you guys think?

Too bad we won't have a 4th one as i understand it...

I gave up after about 7 episodes, couldn't follow it at all. It's like they took the craziness from season 2 and only kept that.

What? Why?
I was actually encouraged after seeing this article.

TLDR: From a financial perspective, Nevins says Twin Peaks has exceeded expectations. (David Nevins - Showtime Networks CEO and president)

Unless I'm mistaken (I have not seen it yet) it's just... over. As in reached it's conclussion, the way Lynch wanted.
but what happened to Audrey?

So you missed episode 8, which was the craziest of them all. ;)

I loved it. It's a very unusal viewing experience and I still don't understand what I saw. But there are so much scenes that I will never forget, it was very entertaining from start to finish.

It's awesome. Just beautiful. Can't wait for the Bluray to watch it properly without any streaming BS :)
Yup. I was pretty anxious (the idea of a new season so late afterwards was not that engaging, after one-more-time stuff such as the latest indiana jones) but adored it. This and Rick&Morty were the best, most refreshing, soothing and stimulating video experiences of the last few years.

And both share some sort of ironic self-awareness bordering on practical jokes upon the viewer. Maybe they're both aimed at (or made by) those who have already consumed too much video pop culture.
