That was a nice way to spread the word! Thank you for making a Linux-themed giveaway. +1

Johnathanamz: Linux will never catch up to the Windows market.
Well, never is a complex word to use. Window's market share has been declining. And in 500 years, I'd guess both Linux and Windows will have the same number of users. (My guess is that everyone will be using that new HURD OS by then. :-)
Congrats to the winners.
Thanks adamhm for the giveaway! and congrats to the winners!

jamyskis: You have a very, very strange and pathological obsession with Windows. Even more so than Elenarie.

It's extremely creepy. Just wanted to let you know that.

Tarnicus: Bill Gates has a lot of time on his hands with all that money. We should feel blessed that he takes the time to comment on the GOG forums :P I couldn't agree more with you about the creepiness of this, as I have recently been using a laptop with Ubuntu on it and searching the forums for Linux info and seeing Johnathanamz name pop up with inaccurate and ridiculous criticism on so many threads, hence my conclusion of it must be Bill! :P

adamhm: Using the terminal is a lot like using DOS (or Windows' command prompt), except that it's a lot more powerful. I don't find myself needing it that much but it is often faster than using the GUI if you know the commands needed. If you need to learn about a command you can run "man <command>" to learn more about it.

Which programs/drivers are you trying to install? I find that it's rare that I need to compile anything myself, almost everything I've needed so far has been either provided through the system repositories or as prebuilt packages or tarballs. On the few occasions that I have needed to compile something it's been pretty simple, only requiring one or two commands (typically "make configure" followed by "make" or "sudo make install" - in all cases so far full instructions have been included, anyway). I think pretty much all distros include GCC as standard, but you'll probably also want to install the "build-essential" package.

Wine compatibility has been improving quite a lot in recent years - I'd recommend checking out and [url=https://www.codeweavers.com]CrossOver for best results. Also check the WineHQ AppDB.

Tarnicus: Sudo for your giveaway <3
Um what did I say that is inaccurate?

Steam Machines and SteamOS will not be a success just watch.

Watch Steam's hardware survey every month. Linux still has not gotten to 2% at all.

Time will only tell.

Can you stop trolling in the thread?

Everyone else: please don't argue with Johnathanamz about anything Linux related. He is just baiting you to start a flame.

Actually something like half of Internet is already running on GNU/Linux.
The other half is made of cats.
Since 2011 there is always a GNU / Linux installed on one of my PCs, currently 14.04 Kubuntu and openSUSE 13.2 are my main OS but also I have a Windows 7 on one PC.

Sorry for my english.
I'm too late...
I would but ive already been using Mint exclusively for several years. Good luck to whoever entered.
