Emob78: Why are all the people complaining about hacked accounts and viruses ones with zero or negative rep? Is this some sort of gog gang initiation or something?

Yeah dude, you can be in our gang. All you gotta do to join up is go over to that group of nerds over there and tell them their software sucks.
I don't know about those with negative rep. But zero rep for someone who comes to the forum with a problem is easy to understand: some people have never visited the forum and just come here once a problem appears. So, no forum activity before the problem occured. Which is entirely OK. Not everyone wants to spend all their time in a forum full of nerds. ;-)
Don't install games in the Program Files folder. That should solve that problem and maybe a few others too.

Seems to me a new addition to the community sticky FAQ is in order.

The hacked account thing is easy to explain: because their accounts have been hacked! Most of them post with accounts created specifically to post about the hack on the forums. Also people with at least several hundred rep points on their original account have reported hacks on the forums.

PetrusOctavianus: Poor Trojans.
Not only were they the victim of the cunning Odysseus, but they also are forever associated with computer viruses. Oh well, I guess the Greeks have enough problems...
Never trust Geeks bearing GIFS.

And of course condoms.

At least the Spartans only have empty rooms.

You should know that the very vast majority of people will never post (or even read) the (any) forum, when they do not have any issues.
As soon as those people get any issues though, they will post. Just look at his membership date; he's not really new ;)

That's why I said that a new update to the FAQ sticky might be in order. Before deluging the forum with complaints, perhaps they should be directed to a general 'here's what happens if you think you have a trojan or virus' post in the FAQ. After all, aren't FAQs usually stickied so that common problems like these can be addressed without forums being flooded with the same questions all the time?
