So, couple updates that didn't make the main page yet, but that I thought were cool, because I'm a Falcom fanboy.

There was no reason to think it wouldn't come to GOG, but obviously, it's nice to have confirmation.


Second, the patch isn't out on GOG yet, but NIS released a new patch for Ys VIII that fixes all of the myriad problems, and makes a bunch of improvements. So, I can't wait to FINALLY play that damn game. Obviously, it shouldn't have taken so long to get fixed, but NIS realizes they fucked up, and they're trying to make good on it. I'm just glad I'm going to be able to play an uncompromised version of what's supposed to be an incredible RPG.

We may get the patch but I can bet we won't get that 50% discount (includes DLC) going on Steam right now for YS 8, but I'm sure your okay with the DRM-free tax, as they say DRM-free isn't free.

And apparently no, they didn't fix the myriad of issues with Ys VIII, as I'm pretty sure there's no evidence that they will be adding Achievements to the GOG version of the game, even though the Steam version has had them since the game was first published.

That lack of a feature parity between platforms is a huge, still-unresolved issue.

And there's also no evidence that they are going to give the GOG version of CS3 Achievements either, but lots of evidence that they probably won't, i.e. all the other NISA games on GOG that do not give GOG customers Achievements, even when the Steam versions do have them.
