kai2: Again, I'm hoping this Matrix film might shake things up a little -- the Wachowskis certainly have the ability and leverage to do so (wild prior success, transgender, etc.) -- but I don't expect much. My gut says this is an installment to try and nullify earlier readings / analysis... <snip>

... maybe it will be amazing! Hope so
Agreed. But somehow with the way things are leaning, it is going to be more cookie-cutter. And the more reliance on CGI that may make things seem more and more fake. Watching 'making of' the Matrix they had the scene where they infiltrate the building to save Morpheus, and it took 2 hours to reset it, and they did the scene like 16 times. Vs just doing action on a greenscreen and filling things in where it will feel more and more fake.

Watching Sargon of Akkad's analysis and commenting makes me less thrilled. Feels more 'Remember when this was good??' and cashing in on that. And we've seen this many times before. And a reason i stopped watching nearly all movies since about 2000, except those that really catch my eye.

I also hope it will be amazing. But I'll wait til the reviews.
I have to refresh the topic, because of some violations of our rules. First of all suggesting that someone keeps his brain in a brown paper bag is not appropriate, especially directed against a disabled person who had a brain injury in the past. For this Breja receives an official warning.

Also a remark for fr33kSh0w2012. The Matrix thread isn't a proper place to discuss disability. The conversation went far away from the topic subject and into the area that's very delicate and sensitive. Please remember that this is a gaming forum in the first place.

It was a refrence to a song, for heaven's sake... I once even made a thread about my own mind in said bag, just for fun. It's not an insult.

It being a song reference is not an excuse.

(Also, please don't post unmarked links to sites that auto-play video.)

Suggestion: instead of relying on/asking others to not post such links, you could hover over the links to see where they go, so as to avoid links you don't want to click.

Also: one should assume most/all YT links will have sound and will auto-play by default
(well unless one uses a script to stop auto playing of YT videos, of which there are several)

Ah thanks for this, I've got to watch The Big Lebowski again!

I do that, but it's not always that easy.
* Sometimes, it's easy to accidentally click, or to not think to do this.
* On mobile, to see the link you need to long press, and if you don't press long enough, you're taken to that site.
* One should not encourage sites that auto-play video; it's one of the many problems with the modern internet.

That's why those extensions I talked about are a pretty handy thing to have.
(the one I used also resizes/etc the subtitles, and does a number of other nice things as well)

An easy solution to this is to not click/press any unknown links while on mobile.
(or get the extensions mentioned above, if they work on mobile as well)

Let's be honest: the makers of such sites would likely do such things anyways, if people linked to them from other sites or not.
(btw, I 100% agree that vids shouldn't auto play by default on such sites)

That's not an easy solution.
* One needs to touch the screen in order to scroll, and that can result in accidentally touching a link.
* On mobile, extensions are generally either limited (so there's a good chance the extensions you mention won't be available) or outright not available in the first place.

Edit: Also, downvoting votes that explain why the solution isn't easy and is sometimes not an option won't solve the issue either.

It's still A solution.

And of course, no solution is perfect.....still, such solutions still work pretty well and help alleviate said issues to a good degree for a number of people.

Also: if one (including yourself, but also generally speaking) wants to be more considerate of others, it's better to take steps(like the ones I suggested and etc) on one's own end to prevent such accidental content viewing, rather than expecting everyone else to not be able to fully enjoy a site they like(in this case GOG forums) in a reasonable manner(in this case posting YT links) just to cater to the requests of a few users.

So as far as The Matrix.....

Does anyone find it odd only one Wachoski is involved? Might not make a major difference but have they ever made any movies that aren't as a team?
Matrix Resurrections compared to Last Jedi

Oh no... This does not bode well. It's categorized as a 'comedy', and mixed reviews.

Likely to be a disappointment.

Not surprising, it's not like Reloaded or Revolutions were great films.
