ZFR: So we've lately had a discussion about those with a couple of my friends, and I thought it might be a good idea to see if we can come up with video-game related ones.
For those of you who haven't heard of them, check out this (short) Wikipedia entry which has some very nice examples.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Swifty So, to enter this giveaway, come up with Tom Swifties of your own. Try to make them GOG-, video-game-, computer-, programming-, DnD-.... or similar related, though I'm not putting any limitations on what the subject can be.
The winner will be selected semi-randomly. Every person who's in will get 1 entry into the draw. I'll be giving bonus entries, up to a total maximum of 10, for submissions that I particularly like. Then a random draw will be used to select the winner.
You may make as many Tom Swifties as you like, but remember it's quality over quantity. A single solid one has a bigger chance of getting bonus points that a dozen medium ones. And of course a dozen solid ones has the biggest chance of getting bonus points.
The giveaway will end around next Friday, so you can select your prize from the summer sale. The prize will be at the minimum a single $9.99 game OR two $5.99 games (one each for two winners), but I may add more prizes depending on the amount of entries. Please make sure the game is within this range at my region (Ireland). You may do whatever you want with the game (gift, trade, have it collect dust in your library...). You may enter for others.
Everyone is welcome to enter. Regardless of your rep or Rep points. (Fine print: I reserve the right though to remove any entry from the final draw. I doubt I'll use it; it's only there for scammers or alt-accounts. Real scammers - not just people who are disliked here. If you're not sure whether you're eligible, it means that you are eligible).
To get you started, here are some of my own:
"That room is full of undead," cried Tom aghast.
"Yup! That health potion was definitely good," Tom wholeheartedly agreed.
"Good to see there is no lagging on this server," said Tom without delay.
"There once was a man from Nantucket...," said Tom perspicaciously...
